Ever heard of this?

I found out today that some friends of ours are going to Disney in July with another family. They said that rented a four bedroom home on property. Are their houses on property for rent? If so, what benefits do they receive? They actually work with DH and were surprised to hear how much we have planned out...their plan is to "wing it" confused gaah

No never heard of any houses on Disney property to rent, unless you want to rent one in Golden Oaks, and that has to be for a minimum of 180 days. I think they may be mistaken that it is "on property".

They may be considering renting a home in "Celebration" FL, which is close to Disney property. It isn't technically on Disney property, but I know there is an Elementary school very close to WDW which services the Celebration area. Maybe that's what they mean?

That could be Eeyore, but even Celebration is not associated with Disney anymore the way it used to be.

There are several time shares with in a few miles of Disney. I saw one that is claiming 3 miles. They are very affordable but not disney. But if they aren't detailed in their plans maybe that is close enough to the bubble. It's really hard to tell where it officially starts and stops if your not a local or a very frequent visitor.

That would be so awesome!!

Maybe they are talking about the treehouse villas?? I don't know much about them but they seem the most 'house like'

Maybe it is Cindy's castle suite!

With non-Disney people, it is often difficult to fully understand what they mean, and often times, they are confused. I still have people calling The Magic Kingdom as "Walt Disney World".

Yes. I also heard that MrHub, that in the last 10-15 years it has totally changed. I don't know much more than I gave here, but would be interested in learning that history!

I am not really sure why it was so connected to WDW in the first place?

Mystery solved! They have rented a home from All Star Vacation homes. Certainly not on property but it is only 3 miles away.
So, they were confused and I am not crazy....it's a good day laugh

A couple at my work took their grandson to Orlando last week and kept telling me that they were going to Disney, I got really excited because I love to help people plan. When I asked what parks they were going to the woman said "the one with Harry Potter".. I laughed and said no thats Universal and she said "same thing" gaah It also took all my willpower to not correct her all day Monday when she told all our co workers how fun Disney was!
