Extended theme park hours

I've gotten the EMH schedule for the days we will be at WDW. One morning the MK opens at 7:00am and I wonder if they do the Rope Drop at 7:00?

There are 3 nights of early closing at MK at 7pm for MVMCP and I wonder how they get all the non-party goers out of the park? Will the Christmas decorations be in place throughout the MK by 11/9?

One night the MK stays open until 3am and another night Epcot stays open until midnight. Any special tips for these late nights?
Or tips for the couple of early mornings since we have an advantage of extra hours?

I will enjoy the late nights, whereas DH prefers early mornings. Hey, for this trip we will certainly compromise. Or I'll park him on a park bench at midnight and come back for him later. biggrin

We just got back from MNSSHP and just prior to 7pm they started making announcements over the loud
system in the park. After 7 the CM's start checking guests for their wrist bands....

That is how they get the non party goers out....

I have never been during Christmas but look forward to your trip report when you return mickey

I'd say for EMHs, especially if you are trying to compromise with your husband who likes early mornings, take a break in the middle of the day when it is the busiest and go back to the hotel for a nap. DH and I did every EMH offered (both morning and evening) when we were there a few weeks ago and we'd just take a nap in the middle of the day if we got worn out.

I'm also pretty sure on days with morning EMH at MK they do 2 rope drops, one for EMH and one for the regular park goers at the regular opening time.

Yes! The Magic Kingdom will be decorated with the basic Christmas set by 11/9.

Besides making announcements they will do a closing sweep of the park starting at 7pm. Essentially cast members line up making a human "chain" across each walkway and slowly walk towards the front of the park. If you have a wrist band for the party you can stay and proceed past them, if not they turn you around and you have to head towards the exit.

As far as the late nights, I also suggest heading back to the room for a mid-day break (nap).

No law says you have to spend every minute with your travelling companions. Hubby can get up early and enjoy the morning hours. You meet up with him sometime before lunch. Then in the evening, he heads back to your resort and calls it a night while you tour the parks till the wee hours. Hubby and I did this on our last WDW vacation, and it worked quite well - nobody had to get up to early/stay up late or sit around fuming while the other one slept.

This is one of the many reasons I am now sold on staying at a Disney resort and using the buses - back when we stayed off-site and our car was the only way to get around, I was usually the one sitting around fuming while hubby (and sometimes friends) slept late. Or I was the one fuming because hubby and friends wanted to call it a day and dang it, MVMCP had barely started!
