They have a special F&W gift card that you can load with $$$ and make purchases as you go. You may also pay in cash. We usually get a gift card before we leave home for all our WDW purchases and just use that. You can use your credit card but that's a lot of nickel-and-diming as you sample the choices.

Visit the booths during a weekday, because the weekends tend to be a bit crowded.

OOh, King Fergus we are on the same wavelength, and similar countdowns. I am only planning to visit F&W midweek, specially as young children with us. DisVillain63 the F&W gift card sounds like a good option, though I have no idea how much I would need to load on it! I will have to wait for this year's F&W info to come out and decide roughly what we are likely to want to try.

umm are you asking about the Wine and Food festival? If so that is free with your park admission. However they do have demonstrations and such going on that you can get a list of and decide if you want any of those and those are NOT free. And if you are on the Disney meal plan save your SNACKS as you can use them at the booths that interest you and it won't cost you a time to eat (I just love the lobster pie and lobster roll..yum). However can't use it for drinks. Just make sure you pick up your book and have it stamp at whatever booth you get something at. And watch the person who rings you up to make sure they are using your snack and not charging it to your room (if you have tied a credit card to your MagicBand).

We enjoyed F&W last year but do some per planning. What we did was go through all the menus and rate them and then narrowed it down to about 12 booths and ate or drank at them. We put $150 on the small wrist gift card and had to top it up! was quite expensive!! We came away very happy having eaten exactly where we wanted. It is fun but avoid the weekends. Last year we got to see Survivor which was fun ( and no despite my bounce I didn't see the band I wanted to) which is rather cool. Oh and this year we are going to eat at one of the restaurant's that we tried at a booth as it was yum. Sorry being from the UK I avoided Scotland as it was like coals to Newcastle laugh

We did the same thing the last couple of times we visited F&W Fest. It definitely helped us focus on the things we really, really wanted to try instead of stuffing our faces at the first few booths and then having no room for something awesome.

When I went alone in 2011, I probably spent $40 a day at F&W. In 2012, with hubby along, we easily topped $100 a day. Of course - we were only eating at the festival booths. No table or counter-service stops at all on those days. So we also were topping off the gift card pretty regularly.

Planning a bit when the details of the food booths comes out is a big help. We tend to put about $200 on our card and just use anything left on the card at Downtown Disney stores before we head home.

The Disney Food Blog posts a lot of information on the F&W Festival. Keep an eye on this page. There are links to previous years.

We loved the food and wine festival. We had free quick service dining so the food was free but we were still spending around $80 per day on drinks for two of us. If you are paying for food and wine it is expensive but probably still less than a full on table service/signature meal. We were full from the snacks and did not need to eat anywhere else on our F&W days so avoid ADR's on days you plan to try a lot of snacks. We went to the welcome centre as our first port of call. We got a F&W wristband giftcard which we loaded with $ I recommend this for ease and tracking what you spend. We also picked up a passport which acts as a menu for the booths and you can also get it stamped in all the countries.

We do the same thing. As Joann said, the Disney Food Blog will update their site as it gets closer and info is released. Eventually they have menus, pictures, and prices up for each item at each booth. I made a spreadsheet with all this info (each item listed by booth with a picture and price) and then highlighted the items we wanted to try: green for must try and yellow for would like to try. That we could make a game plan each day we were there and we knew about how much $$$ to load the F&WF gift card with.
