This would be talking about the cats of Disneyland not Walt Disney World, and it is at least partially true. Back in the day the original cats were brought in to help control mice, today however it's largely the ancestors of those original cats and they live a pretty cushy life. They do have several feeding stations, but the cats don't "reside" there - they are feral and get to go where they please. The cats are collected annually for regular health checks, and spaying. I'm not sure that there are 200 of them, but during the early morning hours it's not at all unusual to see a couple of them strolling through Downtown Disney District.
The only place I've seen cats is at the Polynesian. I heard that cats had once infested the castle in Disneyland, but that was years ago,

Cheers people..There you go..I thought it had to be a wind up when I read that 200 of them were released, and I never knew it was DL instead of WDW..Maybe in Disney World they release the crocodiles to keep the mice at bay...LOL..

Yes they do.
I still think it's funny that the place ruled by a mouse is trying to get rid of mice.

Dear Doctor..My DS runs a mile when he sees a spider in the bathroom..LOL..
I'll be running a mile if I see a snake...or probably a gator for that matter.

We have seen cats around the cabins at Fort Wilderness. Not sure if they are there on purpose or if someone brought their pet and it escaped. I have heard of people sneaking in their pets to the resorts. I guess though since Fort Wilderness is a campground pets are allowed in certain areas but definitely not in the cabins.
A few years ago I went to a conference at the Disneyland Hotel but was staying at the Villas at the Grand Californian. Most mornings when. I arrived (those nursing conferences start very very early!) I could see cats walking around.

Same here, saw them picking up a rather large one the day we did the segway. Didn't tell scrappy about that , she would have crashed upon hearing that.
I saw a cat today at the DL Hotel. I tried to get a picture but it ran off before I could.
I once saw a cat in Epcot.
I've also seen the DL cats. Saw one on my last trip there at Grand Californian.
