Fire In the Tiki Room

Did y'all hear about the small fire at MK yesterday? The Tiki Room caught on fire, but the sprinklers put it out pretty quickly.

How do you feel about this? It's an original attraction, so I feel a little guilty to say....had it burned to the ground we all (MK included) might have breathed a sigh of relief.

No injuries, thank goodness.

Thanks for the report I had not heard of it. Of course the news was mostly taken up with news of the blizzard that we had.

It seems to be in vogue to have a theme park fire lately. There was on at Universal Islands of Adventure last week (that was the real deal, with billowing smoke and everything) and last month, there was smoke reported at Disneyland. I never really think of that being a potential problem...but then I guess it can happen anywhere.

GAH! I love the Tiki Room, tackiness and all! I have the Tiki Room song on a Disney theme park songs CD and every now and then switch it on and sing along to drive Joe crazy biggrin

Um..but I am very famous movie star and all of Hollywood knows my name. Who cares about Alladin or Jafar I'm the one with all the looks and fame. I've got a million crackers in the banks and I plann to get a million more..I guess you'll all have me to thank when there lining up at the door.

Yeah. I listen to that song way too much! I'd be sad. I love the Tiki Room..we hit it every trip!

I heard about the fire, fortunately it was only a small one. Hope they get the tikki room up and running again quickly.

I am clearly outvoted! How funny. Well...I'm all for nostalgia. But let's just dust the animatronics there and over at Country Bear Jamboree occasionally, k? And grease their bones so I can't hear them moving.

Long live the Tiki Room!

I'm a bit ambivalent about the WDW Tiki room since it's been "updated," but I'd be sad if the DL one burned down. (I hope to see it one day.)

Oh No! I hope they have it up and running by the time we get down there. We have to stop in at the Tiki Room!

Hey thanks for the video Mr. Hub! I don't think those were the same voices that were there when I was in Disneyland. Maybe I'm mistaken though!
