I'm thrilled about this! More restaurants opening (or expanding bookings) is always a good thing in my book!
People rave about Garden Grill, but I look at the menu (dinner) and see nothing I couldn't make at home. Tell me why it's so awesome and maybe we will try it next time.

It's definitely a home style sort of meal, but in our limited experience there, the flavors work really well together. The food is reasonably healthy and I like the idea that many of the vegetables in the meal are grown in the Living with the Land greenhouses. Also, it's one of the least expensive character meals and every time we've been there, we've had lengthy and entertaining character interactions. Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Farmer Mickey really take time and play with each table. They've usually made multiple visits and they always have some sort of clever act or response to silly questions. Also when the thing that rotates the restaurant is operational (it was broken the last time we were there), you get to rotate past all of the non-greenhouse scenes from Living with the Land. It's not a place that I feel compelled to visit every time we're at Disney, but I do enjoy it and I think it's fairly repeatable even though the menu hasn't changed in ages.

This may sound weird, but then again I'm kinda weird, but Chip & Dale creep me out.. Why?..I dunno...Maybe I've got Chipmunk Phobia..
I agree with Alicemouse. We've always had a great experience there. It is a meal that can be prepared at home, but as we are not at home and get sick of eating out so much that it's nice to have a home cooked meal so to speak
That is great news!! May have to check it out in November while there for F&W....
I heard this and was super excited. I love the Garden Grill I just actually went the last time we went there and it was so.... good I was actually super upset that I have never been there before.
For anyone who has never been you definitely should go I personally have been to a lot of restaurants in WDW and I think this is one of the best ones! This is a family style character dinner (not sure how breakfast and lunches will be yet) but all the vegetables are made from the Living with the Land area which I think is pretty cool. I do believe the fish is also from that area. And I am not a huge fish fan and the fish I had was AWESOME! The homemade rolls are absolutely awesome and so soft. This is also all you can eat too. So if you are wanting more you just ask and they will bring you out whatever you want more of. The beef was just melt in your mouth delicious and I think we ended up ordering that like three times. (We were also a big group of 10) Like I said everything was wonderful there, there was NOTHING I didn't like and I am usually a picky eater. The atmosphere is also really cool and the way the restaurant rotates throughout the meal is very cool as well.
Thank You! I appear to be Ticker Challenged.
Hubs and I scored a last minute lunch reservation for Nov 12th I am so excited!!! I had ready nothing about lunch being available and I was concerned about it not being a character meal. Thank you all so much for having the info I needed.
