oh wow, I was afraid of this happening with my son and goddaughter last trip so we took the chairs inside the room from the balcony just to be safe. I hope she's gonna be ok

It takes effort to fall from those balconies because you gotta have the chairs close by to climb on. It's a tragedy though.

Mandy - it really does not take that much effort for a kid to fall from here at all. The railings make it difficult for small kids to see, so grabbing a chair is just what they do. Hop up on the chair and suddenly the railing is waist high. Lean over to look at something a little too far and down they go. This picture of Katie when she was 5 is on a 3rd floor balcony - I was a nervous wreck and I was standing right there with her. Honestly, it's kind of surprising this hasn't happened before.

Right. I meant that the child has to be standing on something for them to fall and that they can't just fall from being out there. I hope that makes sense.
