OK folks, here's the scoop . . .

Have an Alaska Airlines Visa. Has been perfect for our needs, but the Evil-Doers went and CHANGED the bonus stuff and really twisted my knickers. We had miles saved for Christmas in Hawaii, BUT they changed the points for the flight AND restricted our yearly 2 for 1. Oh Yes They Did.

Time to use the miles and ditch the scoundrels!!!

We began to check where we could go and WDW was off the radar because we were just there in April. NYC didn't work. SoCal had too many weird Flight windows, etc. Europe. . . way not gonna happen. So Kim mentioned Miami or the Keys and it hit me. . . WDW, maybe? The thing that was the make or break for us was getting in for dinner at Victoria and Albert's Victoria Room. Once we got that reserved, we got the rest of the pieces moving.

Our miles will get us there on Christmas Day, and we will fly home on New Years Day. The biggest and best thing is that we are staying at ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE!!! Savannah View!! Woot Woot!!!

Lets talk food first!
We get to the resort EARLY in the AM so have a breakfast ADR at Boma for Christmas morning. That evening, we are heading to downtown Disney for an early holiday dinner at The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Cafe.

Dec. 26 - at Jiko Laughing out loud

Dec. 27 - at Narcoosee's

Dec. 28 - dinner at Tutto Italia with Candlelight Processional! Yippity Skippity!!! awesome

Dec. 29 - California Grill. muchlove

Dec. 30 - Victoria & Albert's in the Victoria Room. OMG we are so excited for this!!! yay

Dec. 31 - Artist Point.

We know it will be crowded, but no bother. We'll go with the flow and take what we get! New Years Eve Fireworks at Epcot, we hope! But we'd hang at the Boardwalk, at the Poly beach. . . It don't matter!

We're in Disney World for Christmas!!! stars

I've been in December, but not Christmas week itself. But I think it would be amazing to go for Christmas, even if you can't do as much as you would at a less popular time of year. Congrats and enjoy!

You will have the best time ever!!!! yay yay We did this trip last year from Dec. 23rd to Dec. 30th and it was fantastic!! clapping My hubby only gave me one week to plan and we still got great ADR's.

The parks were crowded and some did close due to capacity during the day at some points but we got up early and got going. We got to do everything we wanted before the breakfast crowds came through. We took advantage of park hopping and site seeing and just had a fabulous time! It will be well worth it. It is so much more magical and everyone is in the Holiday spirit.

We have done V&A but never the fancy schmancy Victoria Room. laugh

And we have stayed at AKL - it is our favorite resort - but this will be on the Arusha Savannah. We try to do the right thing and stay at the more affordable moderates. April we were at Caribbean Beach and had an amazing time, but when the miles came through for Christmas, we HAD to up the budget for AKL. We LOVE it there!

I would build my private villa just beyond the fence, put in an elevated walkway back to Jambo House (or Kidani Village, no matter) and have breakfast every morning on my balcony/deck, and dinner every night at Jiko or at my custom fire pit. I'd have a hammock and a low shade tree. . . awesome

Oh, and there would be frosty beverages for all my friends, and There Would Be Cheese!! Oh, and cupcakes, several kinds of the killer Disney cupcakes! biggrin
