Pal Mickey

I still have a Pal Mickey from back in the day, and I have read that it still works in WDW. Has anybody brought one with them in the last few years? If so, does it still work? And are there still a lot of things he will interact with, or have they removed some of the sensors in the park so he isn't as useful and helpful?

I wish they made a keychain sized pal Mickey.
That would be cool. I almost bought one when I went in 2007 and I didn't because they were 65$ at the time and I thought that was a bit steep for a talking doll. Come to find out they discontinue him a year later and now I kick myself that I should have bought one! yuck waiting

My pal Mickey worked in 2011. I'm planning on taking him in October. He has a pirate costume for MNSSHP Smile we'll be pirates together.

Really wish I'd bought one of these when I had the chance! I was put off by the price tag and having to carry him around all day but now I'd happily do it, I love having things that are limited edition or can't be bought any more!

Pal Mickey comes with a shoulder strap and a clip too. I had him around my shoulders and barely noticed him there until he would vibrate to let me know he has something to say. Or you could clip him to your backpack if you had one with you.

These Mickeys are hot on Ebay. They either sell immediately on buy it now or they go for 300-400 dollars. I wanted one but couldn't afford one. I am happy to hear they still work in the parks.

If they are THAT hot of an item, I hope mine doesnt get mouse-napped in WDW haha. Also, since they still work in the park, and there is such a demand for them, Disney must be considering bringing them back for sale, you'd think?

Maybe. But their product release schedule is so tightly controlled for financial gain it's unpredictable. Is the "Disney Vault" still a thing? I remember a few years ago Beauty and the Beast was going to $70 on ebay because of it.

We dug Pal Mickey out of the closet this morning and took him with us to Animal Kingdom. We had to get new batteries for him but I am happy to report that he still works in the parks! It was cool to hear what he had to say, and it seemed pretty current. He reminded us that it's a Wild Time at Bug's Life although it may Bug you! I forgot how cute he is and everyone was turning around and looking when he talked.
Another new old discovery thanks to this blog, love you guys, you never cease to make our Disney experience better! He could've been sold at a garage sale in a few years, but now we know he's a keeper!
