Going to Disney!

Yes- I just got back from Hawaii so I thought it would be a long time before a Disney trip was in sight. However, my husband runs the community service club at our high school in town and they just announced that the convention next summer is in DISNEY! Since many club members want to go the school always sends a chaperone to convention! For him everything is paid for so we just need to buy a park ticket for me! I'm already so excited! The trip will be July 2-8 and I've never been there for the fourth! I know it will be packed and swamped with kids though since it's the international convention but it's totally worth it! Yayyyy!

we were there last 4th of July, but here's my confession: We did not go to the parks, we were afraid of the crowds! We went up around 5:00, parked at MK and walked to the Poly where we wandered around and got Dole Whip of course. By that time, people were claiming their spots so we walked to the beach area and actually ended up on the grassy hill behind the beach for a picture perfect view of castle and awesome fireworks. I love that you can hear the music etc from MK. It was amazing, the double set of fireworks were awesome, one really high the other lower, but we could see both so it's like a mirror image, incredible, but it's Disney! It will be crowded but you will love it!

Yeah- The kids fund-raise to go and the district will send Lou. I'll pay for my park ticket, flight ticket, and food. They will all get vouchers and such.

The only thing that's killing me is I can't plan! It's making me nuts! On the park days the kids pick where they want to go and we take them....But what about emh parks being crowded- I never go those days! And also due to their budgets, no ADRS! Lou will also have to go to some seminars, as will the kids, and then I'll be on my own devices to explore.

It's so HARD not actually planning and just going. lol It's making me nuts because I want to plan and plan but I have to just wing it. Any one ever "winged" a trip before? Is it as scary as it sounds? lol I'm a laminated schedule kind of girl with parade times, show times, dinner confirmation numbers, certain character times and spots, emh's......I also have park plans to avoid lines! Go here, then here, then there but the kids just like to go as they please and since this is really a trip for them I will of course do what they would like......But winging it with a bunch of teenagers. eek

All kidding aside I'm still excited to go but winging it with dining and all at a very crowded time of year does not give me the warm fuzzies!

Julie - My Birthday is on July 3rd and my daughter's in the 5th. I dream of spending it at the Polynesian just chillin' by the pool all day, eating at OHana and watching the fireworks on the beach. I doubt I would go to the park at all (I don't care for crowds) I just want to relax and enjoy the Poly.
