Greetings from Louisiana!

After perusing many forum posts and taking notes for our trip in November, I figured I should log in so I can thank all of the "regulars" for being so nice and helpful to everyone who joins and has questions. I tried to do a trip report last year when we stayed in Key West (only made it thru the first few days) so I really appreciate the posts!

We recently decided to spend Thanksgiving week (Saturday to Saturday) in Disney and I could not be happier. I was born in St. Pete so I was lucky enough to grow up going to Disney on a very regular basis. I do not have children but always make it a point to head back every few years to see all the new additions. I will have to find my old pictures showing me in my red cape teaching the big bad wolf to tap dance laugh

I have always stayed on property but for this trip we lucked out and will be staying at the Wyndham Bonnett Creek for free! Our friend who is traveling with us just happens to have a family member who has a time share with Wyndham and got us a 2 bedroom condo for free. WOW...I am almost at a loss thinking about the money we are saving. I am sad we wont be able to take advantage of the extended hours but I think I will survive...LOL...Tongue

So of course I would love any feedback on this resort...I check tripadvisor regularly for updated reviews. So far the majority of reviews are good and my hope is things can only get better by November, right? Right??

Epcot is my favorite park and my goal one day is to stay on the Boardwalk...kinda pricey but location, location, location.

I look forward to future posts & trip reports...those are my favorites. And of course any & all food/dining reports as we do live to eat here in Louisiana.

Hey there! welcome

(Although I guess since you've been here, I should probably say "Nice to meet you!")

Those Wyndham condos look really nice from the outside, I'd love to see pics when you get there. Plus it sounds like the price is right! biggrin

I wouldn't worry too much about the reviews, I figure it would have to be pretty awful to not be worth the price, right?

Welcome! A co-worker of mine has a time share at Bonnet Creek and really likes it there.

Hello and welcome! Can't offer any inside advice on the resort, but I can't imagine it will be not good! And what a great deal!!

I am hopeful that Karamel Kuche will have recovered and re-stocked from my visit by the time you get to Epcot in November....but if not....er...sorry! biggrin

Glad you are officially here! I haven't heard too much about Wyndham Bonnet Creek, but I bet it will be wonderful, especially for that price! Wink Now you can splurge on some other things!

Epcot is my favorite park too! Do you have any thoughts on where you'll be eating?

We have not made any big decisions about where to eat but these are on the list:
Flying Fish, Kouzzina, Coral Reef (co worker says it is good), Chefs de France, Rose & Crown and Flametree BBQ.

There are so many others I want to try I dont even know where to start! I keep reading about Jiko, California Grill and several others...this is why I start my research early...I try to gather all the info to make good decisions.

How far in advance should we make reservations for the really nice restaurants for dinner?

You can make reservations 180 in advance. Since you are going Thanksgiving week, I would make them at that time.

You've got good picks as far as the food and the reservations wouldn't normally be too hard to get for most of those, except Coral Reef. However around Thanksgiving time all bets are off, so I'd definitely get on the phone 180 days in advance.

Yeah and be on the phone the moment they open at the 180 day mark! By the way welcome back.

welcome to WDWFG, BerryLynn, I am sure you will have a great time.Since you will be be there during Thanksgiving no one does Thanksgiving like the Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK. The Pilgrim's Feast dinner is the best as most people here will be happy to tell you, HOWEVER to scoff up a place at their dinner table you should be, as others have said, making your ADR's right at the opening buzzer of the 180 day mark.

Hi and Welcome! That's awesome about the accomadations! I'm confident that all will be well.

I love Epcot too! I can't wait to hear about all of your experiences, and how staying "not on property but on property" compares!

Are there any other special experiences that you're planning for your visit? I think you'll just miss the Epcot Food and Wine Fest, unfortunately.

Welcome Welcome Welcome!

Like the others... Epcot is probably my favorite as well. I always love ending up there at the end of the day. With it being the most open (Space wise) park... its just a great place to end your day.

Hello BerryLynn! SO sorry I couldn't say hello sooner, but I was busy enjoying your great state of Louisiana! Well, on the ends of a cruise I did. What a historical and unique place, I loved the French Quarter and we visited a really neat Creole Plantation. So much fun!

Thanksgiving sounds like a great time to visit WDW to me! I've always wanted to do thanksgiving Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern with my family. The best part being that I wouldn't have to cook OR clean up the dishes! LoL!

Welcome to the best disney board around. We always go either the week before thanksgiving or the week after thanksgiving. It will be a little busier for you being that you will be there the week of thanksgiving but november is a great time to go. Me and hubby are staying at Boardwalk for the first time when we go for our 10 year anniversary in January of 2014 and are so excited for it because of how close we will be to epcot Smile
