Hi from Georgia!

Hi everyone! I'm Tracey from Georgia. My hubby Jack and I are thinking about a trip to Disney later this year. We're in our early 30s, love to eat, and we've been hearing great things about the food and wine festival held at epcot, and food lovers that we know keep bragging on the restaurants, too. No kids at present.

Neither of us have been to Disney since our parents footed the bills awesome so we're really excited! Those visits in my family were always daytrips while we stayed at the beach. We are thinking about staying on property at a moderate. What would you suggest for first timer grown ups? I'm thinking we'll probably plan a trip for a Thurs-Tues sometime during the festival, and drive down.

Thanks!

Hi Tracey and welcome to WDWFG, the best group of Disney lovers on the net. I assume you are refering to the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot and I know you will love it. As for resorts they are all great and for a first timer I would suggest Port Orleans French Quarter but they all have their different things to draw people to their resort. Beleive me you will see quite a change in WDW sice you were there last.

Welcome Tracey! The Food & Wine Festival is awesome. I haven't stayed at any of the moderate resorts but a lot of people on this site are fans of the Port Orleans resorts.

If you have any questions while you are planning your trip, let us know.

Hi Tracey & welcome to our little corner of the web. As Vettelover stated we have a pretty good assortment of Disney lovers here, from WDW to Disney Land and all around the globe. awesome

Yes the Food & Wine Festival is pretty great. Did that for the first time ourselves this past Oct and would love to do it again! Got any plans for ADR's , or what restaurants youmay be considering, I vote for California Grill, Kona Cafe, Ohana's ,, Flying Fish, or a meal with entertainment like "Spirit of Aloha!". clapping

Hey Tracy!! I'm new here myself, though I've been lurking for ages biggrin

Food and Wine Festival is the best time of the year in my opinion, and my favorite moderate is Coronado Springs (though that's not usually the favorite that most people mention). I like it because it has a fitness center, and comfy duvet covers on the beds. Plus, there are ample hammocks for everyone!

I can't wait to hear more about your trip! Are there any rides you're looking forward to since you haven't been there in so long?

Hi Tracy! Welcome. I'll second what many have already said....the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is AWESOME, and I'm a big fan of the Port Orleans resort!

hi tracy welcome! we have been to the food and wine festival 4 times and are going back again this year. Will be there for the first 9 days of the festival, just a tip i have found the earlier you go the less crowded it is. it starts on the 28th of sep this year wich is a friday. no matter when you go it is awesome, definatley get your adr's if you are going to eat at the restaraunts at epcot and not just the festival because that is the most crowded park that time of year and all the really popular places get booked fast. have a great time

Hi Tracey & Welcome!! I'm another fan of the Port Orleans French Quarter. This wil be our third stay there next month. Love the grounds, the rooms have recently be refurbished. Woo!

If you go in the fall also think about Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! We're 2 adults no kids and really really enjoyed it!

Hi Tracey and welcome! We're sooo glad you're here!

I can't say enough good about Food and Wine Fest - it is truly awesome, and one of my favorite things that Disney does, ever!

What kind of food do you like? We'd love to recommend some ADRs for you!

Thanks for all the well wishes and welcomes!

There's so much to consider - Port Orleans sounds great, but so do those hammocks at Coronado Springs! And I don't even know where to begin with meal reservations.

Do you really need ADRs on days when you are going to the Food and Wine festival? Or can you make a meal out of the defferent dishes in the countries?

Hi again Tracey, you can definatley make a meal out of the stands at the food and wine festival if you don't want to do any table service meals, but i do suggest doing a couple of restaraunts just to change things up a bit.

We had ADRs during the Food & Wine Festival. We just made them for later in the evening so we could enjoy snacking around the world and still be hungry enough later for a meal.

Hello Tracey from Georgia!!

Disney is so much fun as an adult, it gives you views from an entirely different perspective. My husband and I love traveling to WDW both with and without our kiddos!

Food & wine Festival is one of my very favorite times of the year, you'll love it! Going in the beginning of the week will really help you keep the crowd level (read: shorter lines for plates) too! I would suggest Port Orleans French Quarter for a place to stay. Though that could because I just got back from NOLA and loved every moment of it. All the Disney Resorts are fantastic!

Hi Tracey!

I'm new here as well. Welcome.

My husband and I (also no kids) were at WDW a few years ago during the F&W festival. It was fun. You could certainly make a meal out of eating your way around the world, but... we found the F&W Festival offerings to really add up FAST cost-wise for not a whole lot, portion wise. So, it sort of depends upon your budget there. It's definitely do-able food-wise though.

As far as ADR's for Food & Wine go, we were able to be completely full off all the little plates we had throughout the day mixed with a few things we always get at Epcot like fish & chips and a pretzel from Germany. Everything was split between the 2 of us and it would've been a waste for us to have an ADR because we couldn't have eaten much.
