Groceries on Disney property????

Hi! My family and I are planning a WDW vacation in May! So excited! We have purchased the DDP with 2 meals and a snack each day. I was thinking we would have breakfast in our room before we went about our day. Planning on bringing with us some cereal, bagel's, etc. to have. I would just like to get milk and maybe some yogurt, water, etc. etc.... I can imagine purchasing anything at the actual resort will be really expensive (We are staying at the Yacht Club). Is there a place to go and get these kinds of things on the Boardwalk or DTD? Do I have to leave the Disney grounds and head into Walmart to get this kind of stuff. We are flying into Orlando and I don't really want to fly with this stuff. Thanks Everyone!

Hello Donnie's Gal and welcome. You can get some stuff at Screen Door General Store on the Boardwalk. Milk is usually available at all resorts sundries stores & snack shops. Yogurt I have seen in some places and bottled water you can get individual bottles, no cases. Yes you will pay more at the resorts. You can get groceries delivered from outside sources also.

I've used the Garden Grocer delivery service before and found it to be an excellent option, though there is a $50 Minimum purchase. The Beach Club has a good sized market since they are a DVC property too. I don't think that it would be any more at Beach Club than at Boardwalk.

I second Garden Grocer- they are top notch. And they deliver alcohol. If you have kids with you, you'll need a shot or two!

For a small order you may as well go to the screendoor at the Boardwalk, or the Market at the Beach Club

I've never done, but I've heard you can walk to the Hess station from the Boardwalk. Watch out for snakes though.

The Hess station is right across the street from the Boardwalks entrance.

I also loved garden grocery- we got a ton of food for $50 minimum plus the delivery fee.
We had hard boiled eggs, danish, oj, coffee creamer, water, yogurt, banana's,
and more- I found their prices very reasonable.

We also stopped at the gift store in Port Orleans-Riverside and was surprised
how many choices of food they had..their prices were only about $1 more than
what we pay at home... a box of danish were around $4.99 and we pay about
$3.99 at home (this was Oct. 2012)

Here is a pic of some of what we got in our room fridge
(minus the mini champagne which i bubble wrapped in my check on luggage
from home)

Thanks for the welcome and thank you all so very much for the tips!! I am feeling so much better about the DDP decision. And the tip about alcohol delivery..... PERFECT! With 3 kids a nice glass of wine to end the crazy days will be very appreciated! Looking so forward to our trip and learning all the ins and outs from you all!
