And yes, mrhub, I have been bursting at the seams to share the news! Just had to wait until we got everything pretty much in order and confirmed. YAY!
Zz, Joe is threatening to make me downsize my Disney collection! We are going to rent a 2-bedroom apartment for 6 months and then try to figure out something more permanent. If he tries to make me get rid of things, I'll make him get rid of 1 kitchen item for each Disney item! HA!
Angels, it is work-related. But I am keeping the same job. I'm lucky in that half my department is in Charlotte and the other half (and my boss) is in Oakland or San Francisco. So it was an easy sell to move out there.
I am sure we will work our way back to Orlando on occasion - too many fond memories to just forget about it!
I hate to say it but you will bore or DL really fast. It is almost identical to WDW except for a few rides and it is so much smaller. You can put all of DL in MK parking lot. I guess it will be a SMALL slice of MK heaven for you. Now the new park, whatever they are calling it now a days
is small but totally different. Now if you like rides don't forget to check Knott's Berry Farm, Universal, and Six Flags Magic Mountain. While you at Knotts Berry Farm try the fried chicken. There might be a wait or a line on the busy days but it is worth it.
Also, while you are down there go to Mann's Chinese Theater. I can't remember exactly where it is but really close to the theater is Mickey's Star on the walk of fame.
But, I will let you settle in before I tell you all the great places to check out in Ca.
