Hello again!!

Hi All,

It's been a while since i've been here. Probably two years nearly.

Anyway thought i'd sign back in and join the fun.

As you see below we are at our 60 day countdown (well it's actually 61 but we are stopping the night before at the airport, so thought i'd cheat).

We are able to book our fastpasses tomorrow along with our selection for the plane seats, so up at the crack of dawn to ensure we get our fastpass for Anna and Elsa (long story).

So a bit about me, I am 27 male from UK. I was planning to propose to my girlfriend while at Disney World in September however a quick change of plan meant that I asked her about a month ago instead (another long story).

I wish I had waited until we went but I know I'd have been worried and stressed all holiday (perhaps I could ask her again?).

Although I am a massive Disney fan I am looking forward to the new part of Harry Potter (even though I was disapointed with the first part of it in 2012).

Our trip in September includes my brother and his gf and were stopping at Old Key West for two weeks and have also got the Dining plan.

Look forward to speaking to you all again Smile

Well it isn't a romantic story sadly.

I had been thinking about asking the question since before Christmas and had planned to do it at Disney World. Everything seemed to be going against me, I was planning on the beach of the Poly until they stopped none guests going on there.
Anyway, I'd asked her parents if I could marry her (the old fashioned way), and had chosen a ring. I had started to buy vouchers for the shop where I was buying it and was going to get it a few weeks before we left.

However on the day in question she was getting ready to go to her friends engagement party and over the last few months her friends had been announcing things like babies and engagements etc and I think she felt I was dragging my heels a little bit. She got upset as she was getting ready as she didn't like the outfit she was wearing despite me telling her how lovely she looked.

I turned to her and said would someone who is about to propose to you tell you you look beautiful and not mean it, and just got on one knee and asked her.

Later that day we went to choose a ring.

It was fortunate I didn't buy the ring as she didn't like the one I had chosen so that was a positive. It felt right to ask her but I do wish I'd have waited for Disney a little bit.

Yes, lots. Really looking forward to it.

Be our guest
Le Cellier
Sanaa
Cinderella's Royal Table
Si Fi Dine-in
San Angel
Tusker House (breakfast)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
California Grill
Bongo's

I think that's the list but I could be wrong as I've done them from memory. We also want to try the three broomsticks at Universal IOA, and our traditional trip to the Outback steakhouse as well lol

welcome back! Just wanted to say hi, and let you know that although your proposal wasn't a big to-do, it sounds very romantic and intimate. Also, definitely propose again in Disney! I'm sure it will be just as romantic and make her feel special that you love her enough to do it twice Wink

I think it's a beautiful story! One that is uniquely special to you two and now it's nice that you can just enjoy your vacation together. Welcome back (sort of--I'm new since you've been here last, so maybe it's just plain welcome??)

We just stayed at Old Key West in May and we thought it was just great, so I hope you have a really great trip there. Let us know how you make out with the Anna/Elsa FP. We're hoping to get on for later in September. We must be there around the same time because out FP window opens up on Saturday.

Thanks for the kind wishes.

One question about re-asking her to marry me, should I be looking to buy another ring or should I just use the exisiting one?

How about some diamond earrings? Or a necklace? Does she have a favourite stone? If you were re-proposing after 10 years or something, I think a new ring would be appropriate. Seeing as you just asked her, and the ring is new, maybe something to go with it to wear on your wedding day?
