Hello? Hello? Are there any animals in here?

clapping

I'm so happy to have found this forum! I'm a long time lurker from being a Facebook group member. My name is Phill, I live in New York City, and I'm a pianist in a 1920s band, and work in guest services at a major NYC theater. I grew up in Florida, three hours from WDW. (Oh! Those days of $20 entry for Florida residents!)

Favorite Character - Stitch! I don't know if I could name a favorite attraction - But my go-to multiple riders are Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, and TTAuthority (although I still call it "The People Mover"). I'd add Peter Pan to that list ... But I rarely can get on it! =) All time favorite of all time ever - Maelstrom!

I'm currently making a list of all the attractions in all the parks, so I can figure out which few I've managed never to see in forty years. I promise it's more out of curiosity, rather than obsession ... Right? Puzzled

Ohana!

Well I'm part man, part animal, you know... a Manimal. Does that count? LOL.

Welcome PhillNYC! Interesting that you play in a 20s band. Is that ragtime era?

JoAnn - We don't have a trip planned, alas. We just moved, and want to get out credit cards paid way down before any big expenses. Perhaps in this year though.

Robyn- We don't have any videos up yet. Most often, we're playing noisy cocktail parties or in noisy clubs, so it's tricky to get video of any quality. Anyhow - Here's a pic though ...

Ken - Part ragtime, and a lot of Eddie Cantor, Irving Berlin, stuff like what you'd hear in the movie Singin' in the Rain - that sort of thing.

Welcome! I'm from NJ honestly but New York City is my all-time favorite city. I take day trips to New York whenever I can since there's not much to do in my hometown. Horrid smells aside, it's a great place with so much to do.

Welcome, Phill!

Looking forward to hearing about your adventures. mickey

I'm a big fan of entertainment from the early part of last century--maybe a bit later than what your band typically plays, but I especially love Gershwin and Cole Porter.

I'm also a fellow Stitch fan and cat lover. Here's my cat, Alice (I'm also an Alice in Wonderland fan--hence my username), posing with Stitch.

We have Daisy-she is from a rescue. She had been adopted twice and returned twice.
She is the most lovable, sweet, easy going lap cat, I have no idea how somehow
could have returned her, let alone twice! She is our oldest and while she may appear
black and white, she is really siamese! Ok, she really isn't siamese, but I call her
that because I've always wanted a siamese and I went to the rescue with the
intent of adopting one but came home with the black & white after "she chose" us.

There there is Nemo. He is a very elegant black cat with old soul eyes that pierce thru you
as if he is reading your every thought. He loves to be a bed cat and sleeps curled up
right next to you after he spends a few minutes chewing on your hair. He is wise
and loving but don't pick him up! He likes his freedom and gets his lovings from you
on his terms, not yours.

Lola is what I like to call our river cat. We have a historical fort area in our town which
sponsors a "dig" for artifacts every year. While I was there the college students
had Lola, who was a scrawny kitten somewhat resembling a rabid squirrel under their
desk. She had shown up out of the woods at the river and they had been feeding her.
Well we couldn't leave her there to be eaten by coyotes so home she went. She had a
street attitude and laid the law down in no time. Her only real threat with us was the first
few weeks when the basset-beagle was certain we had brought him home a squirrel to play
with. He would chase her then smell her then look at us all puzzled. She has finally filled out
and her tail is much fluffier. She is our "talker" and always has a lot to say.

Next are the "E-boys" Einstein and Eli. Einstein or "Einy" as we call him, is our gray cat. Amy's mom had a feral
cat go in her garage, have kittens and promptly die a week later from unknown causes.
So the E-boys have been hand fed and spoiled rotten. We took care of the 4 kittens
whenever Amys mom and step dad had to go to the Mayo Clinic. I had a telepathic moment
with Einstein when he was a baby. The one and only time I have had one which makes
me sound like the crazy cat lady. But I swear when I was holding him I "heard" him
say "I want to live here". Yes, I know . Crazy. But I kept him and he is my big gray
boy who follows me around like a dog. Very interactive and another "old soul"
you swear he knows exactly what you're saying.

Eli and Einy were buddies so he stayed too. He is also a talker and the caretaker
of Nemo and Einy. He is the first to tell me to fill the food bowls in the morning
then he steps back and lets his brothers eat first. He is also our shower cat
and has a strange fetish of jumping in your arms when you step out of the shower.
He purrs and soaks up all your water and refuses to be put down until he has
his hugs and kisses. Any other time, dont try to pick him up- he wont have any of it.

Moving on to the K9- Molly is a tree walker coonhound mix-and hands down, the weirdest,
strangest dog I've ever had. I could write a book about her weirdness. But she has her
sweet moments and she cracks me up with her antics. She is mellowing in her older age.
She has never been much of a loving lap dog type, but finally she is letting us
cuddle with her , when she is in the mood for it. We often joke she acts more like a
cat than a dog.

and Bella- we rescued her as a pup out of a rescue organization and she is the smartest
most loving dog ever. She is my sidekick and hates it when I'm not home. She is the guard dog
and will stay awake until her whole family is home when she is finally safe to zonk out and snore.
Don't stop by if you haven't met as she will go into typical german shepherd mode and turn
into Cujo. She is the only dog that I have had that will use mirrors in a room to survey
and search a room before she enters, especially when we play hide-n-seek. ( I think she cheats).
