Hello! New Here!

Hi everone!
Brand new here. Not new to disney though. Been countless times. Going again in March (unfortunatly during spring break season) for my honeymoon. Was wondering if any of you guys think it would be worth it to try to stay in the new Grand Floridian Villas? Or if we would be better off staying at an Epcot resort? It will be my fiance's first time going and I want him to have a really good experience at Disney. Thanks everyone!

Congratulations on the wedding and the honeymoon! I just got back from my Disney honeymoon and we both had a fabulous time!

I have no advice on the GF-- I have never stayed there. What Epcot resorts are you looking into staying at?

Oh, and welcome!! : )

I was looking at the Beach Club Villas. I feel like being at a monarail resort and a boardwalk area resorts both provide experiences. I am looking for a resort that is also a bit more layed back and relaxed.

Those look super nice-- I would love to stay there! We took the boat from HS a couple times to look at all of those resorts.

Hi and welcome I personally think I'd rather stay at a monorail resort if I had the choice since you're so close to MK and have easy access to Epcot. Plus what an awesome experience to be one of the first to stay in the Grand Floridian Villas! congrats on the wedding and honeymoon!

Welcome and congratulations!! You'll get some good tips on this board to help you with your trip planning.

As far as where to stay, I'd stay at a Boardwalk area hotel. I enjoy the beach theme very much and find the Grand Floridian is a little to fancy but you REALLY can't go wrong either way! You're really setting the bar high for your soon-to-be husband's first trip!! You'll never get him to stay at a moderate after staying at the GF or a Boardwalk area hotel!! Not a bad problem to have!

Welcome and congratulations on the upcoming wedding. My husband and I honeymooned in WDW. We had an absolute blast. We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter on our honeymoon and loved it. When we went back a few years later to celebrate our 40th birthdays we stayed at the Contemporary because I wanted to be on the monorail and be able to walk to the Magic Kingdom (its the only resort that you can walk to the MK from). I love both experiences equally. We'll be staying at the Beach Club for one night this October, so I'll let you know what we think. No matter where you stay on property, you will have a wonderful honeymoon!

Hello & welcome to WDWForGrownups! We've stayed at both resorts ad much prefer the Monorail resorts, but all are nice and you can't go wrong really. It's all a preference in taste. The Beachclub Villas are set back farther so you can not get any kind of water view. It a little hike in the morning for coffee too.

We are DVC members , but much prefer the Poly and stay there quite often. MK is also our favorite park.

Scrappy was going to try to get one night in the Grand Floridian Villas for our Oct trip, but they don't open until the Wednesday we are there.

Thanks to everyone for your feedback! My parents are DVC members. Their home resort is the Wilderness Lodge, which I think is my favorite resort because it usually is a little more quiet. We are currently booked to stay there because we can't book the Villas at the GF yet. But we may switch to a resort on the Boardwalk if we cannot get into the GF. Im so excited either way! And I am really happy to be apart of this group!

Welcome! Any of the deluxe resorts are nice and romantic to me. As MrHub said, it is all preference. We spend the least amount of time at MK so staying at a monorail resort it pointless for us. We frequent EPCOT and HS so staying at an EPCOT resort is best. We stayed at Boardwalk in May and loved it. We liked the nightly entertainment and being able to walk to both EPCOT and HS.

welcome And congratulations!

I have no educated opinion on the resort choices. We are staying at the Boardwalk this Fall. It will be my first EPCOT area resort stay and I have never stayed at a Monorail resort.

In my head, I think I would like the Monorail resort better. How very cool that would be!

But, then again, the whole International Gateway to EPCOT makes for EASY dining. I find it hard to NOT plan meals at EPCOT every single day when I plan my dining. Not because there are not plenty of great restaurants outside of EPCOT. I have no explanation as to why. I end up changing it up, but I always start off with so many EPCOT meals. What I do find very appealing - exiting through the International Gateway while everyone else still has to make it up to the front, and maneuver through the whole bus rush crowd.

There is no way that you can go wrong. You just have to prioritize what is most important to you.

I'm thinking a more relaxed quiet resort would be more of a fit. And as I've never been to GF and i haunt been to the Boardwalk or the BC i can't remember if they were quiet or not.

Well, the Boardwalk offers nightly entertainment and will be noisy on the actual boardwalk. However; once we entered the resort and went to our room, we never heard anything. The pool area was pretty quiet when we were there. I don't know about BC.

I've never stayed at GF, but honestly it is a turnoff with the buildings being all separated. It used to be my favorite resort, but out of the monorail resorts, the Poly seems to be the most romantic. It is beautiful inside and just has this romantic feeling. You are on a "beach" too so the lush gardens are more attractive. I know the poly is set up in longhouses, but it does not seem quite as spread out as GF.

What if I just stayed at the Wilderness Lodge? I can't make decisions when it comes to Disney!!! So many to choose from. Is The Wilderness Lodge usually pretty chill and quiet?

My home resort is BWV and we love the location and activity on the Boardwalk. The last 5 years I've been staying at the WL and love it. It's quiet, majestic and (IMO) romantic!
