Hello from Pensacola, Fla.

Hello all. Eddie from Pensacola, Florida. New to WDWFGU and wanted to say hello. Saw this website on twitter and wanted to check it out. 35 (soon to be 36 on April 7th) Software Specialist living in Pensacola, Fl. Married to my wife Kati now for 2 years. Both annual pass holders and we try to get to Disney at least once a year.

We always get the "why are you going to Disney if you don't have kids" questions. We just smile and say we enjoy it politely. People have no idea how fun Disney can be without kids.

I was hooked on Disney when my father and I would go when I was younger. Then, we turned it into a few times a year starting in 1990. From that point on, we spent 14 nights in the summer, 5 nights at Thanksgiving and 5 nights during Spring Break each year until 2002.

I have spent over one full year of my life at Disney World and still counting. Now I have my wife to travel to Disney with, and I have turned her into a Disney World freak as well. Took her for the first time 4 years ago. And we; as I said, try and squeeze at least one trip a year to Disney.

Anyway, just saying hello.

Favourite Park - EPCOT
Favourite Rides - Mission Space, ToT, Soarin' & Rock'n Roller Coaster

Allie - Hmmmm, tough to pick just one. I like Via Napoli and Les Chefs. Those two would probably be my favourites right now. I also like the Sci Fi Drive In for lunch as well.

Thanks for all the welcomes so far everyone.

Yes I do actually. I love the Mickey chocolate ice cream heads. I have at least 3 a day when we are there no matter what time of year. Don't know if you can call ice cream a snack. But hey, I do awesome

It does make it easier to get there on a whim, Kat. Also, Disney treats Florida residents rather well. No complaints here that's for sure.

Hello Eddie! Thank you so much for joining us!

You'll find no judging here about being a grown up and going to Disney, in fact this forum is full of enablers! When do you think you'll be headed back next?

We are staying at the Best Western on hotel plaza blvd. in Downtown Disney. Have stayed there in the past and the hotel is nice. Good location, very good priced and all we need when at Disney. No need to spend any more money on a room than we need when we are only there to shower and sleep.

Plus, we are Diamond members for Best Western, we hardly ever pay full price and get all the free upgrades to suites for no charge. Which is very nice.

Hey, Eddie!

We're so glad Twitter led you here! It sounds like it was meant to me for us to meet you!

There are a lot of friendly folks on this forum, so we hope you'll have fun sharing the Disney-Fever with and among us!

Are you originally from across the pond?? The "u"s in your "favourites" and the "as well"s have got me thinking... Smile

Eeyore - Funny. My parents just moved from Pensacola to Highlands, NC. It seems a lot of Floridians moved to NC recently. When did you move there?

Nancy - No, not from across the pond. Though I have spent a great deal of time in Ireland and England. My entired family is Irish, County Down Northern Ireland to be more specific, so I just learned to spell words that way along the way growing up. Drove my college professors mad, but they learned to live with it.

But I've lived all over from Alaska, Canada, Arizona, New York, Tennessee, California and of course Florida. I'm sure I picked up little things from each of those places.

welcome Eddie. Always glad to have another Floridain on here, though it seems unlikely that you could call yourself a local. I don't get grief for being a grown up who loves Disney as much as I do for being a Floridain who is a frequent vistor. I alway say while it is fun to visit other places, there is only one most magical place on Earth. Glad you found us.

Highlands = What a GORGEOUS place to live! During ANY season!!

Well I think your spelling is brilliant (that's what a British/Irish person would say, right? "Brilliant!") and I love the fact that you're keeping your heritage alive. I've gotten to spend a wee bit of time in England (just a short vacation) and then at the Yeats School in Sligo, during college. Got to travel around a bit: Down to County Cork, up to Dublin, up more to Galway, and then the rest of the time in Sligo. I can't remember how to say "Cheers!" in Irish/Gaelic. Is it "Slante"?? and you say it "slaun-chuh"?

Nancy D - Very good. Loads of fun over there to be had, that's for sure. Yes, you are correct there. Cheers in Irish Gaelic is Slainte. Pronounced slawn-cha. Easy way to remember and say it is think lawn chair, just beginning with an 'S'.

Slainte!!
