Hi

I have been reading the blog post and have really enjoyed them, so thought I would check out the forum. My 16 year-old daughter and I will be traveling to WDW in October. It will be her first trip and almost mine - I was last there in 1987! We are very excited and trying to plan our meals, days & such. Think we are close, then read something else that sounds fun.

Well welcome and glad you joined us! October is a great time of the year to visit WDW, and btw, will you be staying at one of the resorts? We can suggest where to go eat, just let us know your likes and we can point you in the right direction.

welcome

Welcome Robyn! This is a really wonderful forum and I'm sure you'll get plenty of tips! Will you be participating in Food and Wine festival or Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party? I've never visited in October but have heard those are wonderful reasons to visit that time of year!! And I second Emilio's question if you're staying on-property at any of the resorts. Can't wait to hear more about your trip!!

My daughter picked the Coronado Spring Resort - which really surprised me. Budget is for a moderate resort and I left it up to her. I have read good & bad about it, but firgure we don't have anything to compare it to, so it will be fun for us!

Food, I want to try Le Cellier and Becca wants Via Napoli in Epcot. Not sure in Magic Kingdom, thinking out Be Our Guest and Crystal Palace as we both love the Pooh characters. Any suggestions for Animal Kingdom and Studios. Was thinking about a Fantasmic package - but not sure how busy it will be and if it worth it.

Our dates are 10/23 - 11/1. But doing Universial first, Horror Nights for her and Harry Potter for us both! We are planning on Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Still reading on the Food and Wine festival & trying to understand that!

Thanks for the welcome!

yay Welcome! We love new folks! Sounds like you and your daughter have a great trip planned. I love October at the World. The Epcot Food & Wine Fest is my favorite. I'm also a fan of Harry Potter...have you been to the Wizarding World before? If not, you are in for a treat! Its so authentic. It makes you feel like you are walking into the books. Enjoy!

stars Hello Robyn D!! Welcome to our forum! stars

I would have never considered Coronado Springs for myself, but I visited my best friend who was staying there last fall and it was completely lovely! I would stay there if I wasn't using DVC points.

I love Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom Smile

welcome

I like both Tusker House (character dining buffet) and Yak & Yeti at Animal Kindgom. My favorite at Hollywood Studios is the Hollywood Brown Derby (signature dining).

I love the Food & Wine festival. The Disney Food Blog has a lot of good information. The link below includes reviews from last year's festival.

Hi and welcome Robyn! I'll second (or third...or fourth) Yak & Yeti at Animal Kingdom for the Kobi burger and lettuce wraps! We did both MNSSHP and the F&WF on our October trip last year and loved both! The F&WF is setup around the World Showcase and has a bunch of different booths with usually around 3 food dishes and a number of different wines, beers, and cocktails from the specific country the booth represents. It's a great way to get to experience a bunch of different food choices as each plate is just a small tasting amount. I recommend getting the F&WF wrist gift cards they sell as it's a great way to keep track of your spending and so you don't have to dig out your credit card while holding plates of food.
