helloooooooo!

Hi everyone!

I am still lurking about, and just wanted to say HI to all! I miss this place!! in fact, it's the only "Disney" themed thing that I can stomach. Still have some bitterness I guess.
I'm still FUNemployed, so I've been traveling to non-disney destinations--(who knew they even existed?!) and really enjoying the time off.

It looks like I'll be taking an office job that has NOTHING to do with retail (thank GOD).. soooo here's hoping! If that works out, then maybe I'll FINALLY get to see the Osbourne Festival of Lights!!

Anyway, hope all is well with everyone! I miss you all!

Good luck with the new job. I worked in retail for many years until the company I worked for went out of business. No more retail for me and I don't miss it one bit.

Well I have to say I did something I've ALWAYS wanted to do... and that is an actual ROAD TRIP!
I drove from here in Los Angeles to Seattle, WA... and it was AMAZING. Soooo beautiful!
We stayed in a little mining town at the very top of CA called YREKA (not Eureka) for a night and it was absolutely gorgeous. As we drove through Oregon, we veered slightly off course to the Oregon Vortex near Gold Hill, OR.. and as touristy as it was, it was loads of fun. Oregon is stunning. I'm not used to trees and such, so it was beautiful. We also stopped in Portland to try those Voodoo Doughnuts I see on tv all the time.. they were "ok" a lot of hype if you ask me.
I really enjoyed Washington--we actually stayed with relatives in Lacey which is near Olympia--but we took a day in Seattle. What an amazing city! I cant wait to go back and spend more time!
I'll try to find some of my fave pics to show you all... that is, if you dont mind them being non-Disney

here is a back road in Oregon, just past Gold Hill.. on the way to the Oregon Vortex

back road in Oregon

The Oregon Vortex! where the laws of physics dont exist!! (for more info see www.oregonvortex.com)

Oregon Vortex

Voodoo Doughnuts.. as seen on Man v Food, many Travel Channel shows, many Food Network shows. They are filled with raspberry jelly so they look like they're bleeding when you bite em!

Voodoo Doughnuts

a real life bald eagle!! We were at Ft Lewis near Tacoma, WA (my cousin is in the Army so he got us on base)... we spent hours just watching the eagles flying around. It was really an incredible sight that I will NEVER forget.

Olympia, WA..

Olympia

we took one of the Duck Tours.. it's this car/boat thing that drives you around the city, then you get a ride on the water!

Seattle Skyline

the infamous "Gum Wall" in Seattle. Seriously, one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen.

Gum Wall

but kinda pretty.. in a gross way... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gum_Wall)

That is super awesome and something I have been wanting to do for a long time!! I have friends in Portland and in Seattle so I want to go visit. Love the pictures!! Something else kind of crazy, I saw a bald eagle today!! Andy and I are in Mammoth Lakes and there are a few who nest at a certain lake... My picture is no where near as good as yours however. Smile
