Help! Can only get a preferred pool view room for Pop - too noisy?

Hi,

So we're going to be booking Disney tomorrow. After much discussion (moderates vs. values, budget etc), we agreed to book Pop Century. I like to book directly through Disney so I have my whole package in one place and can easily book ADRs, get the Magical Express, make specific requests, etc, but upon looking at Pop Century for the dates of our stay (mid November), I've discovered that only Preferred Pool View rooms are currently bookable through the Disney website.

As hotel availability seems to be fairly limited at this time, our options are to go for the Preferred Pool View room, which I have heard would be very noisy till late at night, book into an All Star (I'd rather not do this), or pay the PS300 extra for a standard room at Coronado Springs.

As we don't tend to spend a lot of time in our room, and are usually out quite late at night, I'm tempted to go for the Pop Century room and hope for the best. I'm also thinking that as we're going in November, it may be quieter than normal.

Has anybody stayed in a Preferred Pool View room at Pop? Did you find the noise totally unbearable or was it okay? Honest opinions - would I be better paying more for CS, downgrading to an All Star, or going for the super noisy room at Pop?

Thanks in advance! Also YAY WE'RE BOOKING DISNEY TOMORROW. yay yay yay yay yay muchlove mickey mickey mickey mickey mickey mickey mickey

I have stayed in the Pool view room at POP. I did not think it was super, super noisy, but sometimes it got to be a bit loud. We also spend very little time in the room and stayed out fairly late each night, so it was not too much of an issue. I did request a quieter area last year though and then I noticed the difference.

Did you call to see if they can do anything over the phone vs. online?

Oh, I didn't think to do that actually. I might try calling and see if they can do anything. Thanks. Smile

In my experience, the main pool area at Pop is only loud during the day when they do children activities during the day. At night it's not too bad.

Have you looked at booking through the U.S. Disney site? I found the availability of rooms better. Yes you pay in dollars but you may find what you want, also you just pay a deposit and the balance later

Hmm I've not tried that - I actually didn't realise it was possible. Definitely going to investigate this now!

Had a look at various packages. Right now, the three most suitable ones are as follows:

Pop Century Preferred Pool View: PS2476 including indirect flights from Glasgow, for nine nights, with Disney Ultimate Ticket.
Coronado Springs Standard Room: PS2795 including indirect flights from Glasgow, for nine nights, with Disney Ultimate Ticket.
Port Orleans Riverside Garden View: PS2890 including indirect flights from Glasgow, for nine nights, with Disney Ultimate Ticket.

I'm not sure there's enough difference in these costs to affect our decision that much, so I'm wondering whether it's worth going for one of the moderate ones. My dream is to stay at POR but my husband isn't a fan of spending extra money! Wondering if I should convince him or maybe compromise on CS.

Its a tough call. My husband is all about saving $ too, but when I told him it was my dream to stay at The Contemporary for my 40th birthday, he said the extra money was well spent to fulfill a dream. Are you celebrating anything special that you can use to persuade your hubby? awesome

I've convinced him now so I might just go for Port Orleans! I think he's fine with it as long as I pay the extra out my new paycheque hahaha.

AAAAAH I've just booked! 9 nights in POR Garden View room from the 12th-21st November! Can't believe it! I never thought we'd (a) get back to the World or (b) afford a resort as amazing as POR. haha can't wait to start planning. I wanted to link my reservation to mydisneyexperience but it says it can take up till seven days and I'm impatient! Laughing out loud I'll start planning my itinerary/ADRs in the meantime. yay yay yay yay yay yay clapping clapping clapping clapping clapping clapping

I think you have made the right decision.
PO is a lovely experience in itself (the parks are just an added bonus laugh )

I think it was the right choice too. Only worked out a bit more expensive than a value, and it's basically my dream resort. Really excited now! x
