Hi from Boston!

My fiance and I will be traveling to Disney for our honeymoon at the end of July. We can't wait! We are both teachers and just spent our February break booking our special trip Smile
We will be staying at the Contemporary. Even though we have both been to Disney many times, this time will be so different! I hear/read that newlywed get quite the special treatment!!
Any tips or comments are welcomed and appreciated! mickey

Hello and congratulations on the pending trip and nuptials!

If you really want attention, think about getting bride and groom ears and/or happily ever after buttons to wear.

And have a blast!

Firstly, congratulations on you up coming wedding. We spent our honeymoon in WDW and had many 'special' moments. As may people on site have heard before I actually proposed to my wife in our hotel room on our first trip back in '00, and our next trip wasn't until our honeymoon in '07. We booked to stay in the same hotel and tried to get the same room as before. Unfortunately it was being renovated, but the cast member behind the desk got us moved into that room 3days into our stay.
We had a look of fun interacting with the characters as they do go that extra mile when you see your celebrating something.

We got to skip a few lines when cast member saw our pins, even got a 'just married' sign put on the back of our car on the TomorrowLand Speedway. In DHS, we were in the candy store section of the Villains in Vogue, and the lady behind the counter just reacher into the counter and handed us a couple of chocolate covered marshmallow and said congratulations. A couple of times when we went to our diner reservations, the tables was decorated with streamers and Disney confetti, brilliant.

All in all, an awesome honeymoon with loads of great memories. You're sure to have a great time mickey

That's wonderful!! How special that you got to stay in the same room, too! Disney sure does go the extra mile to make every vacation special, no matter what you are celebrating!
I called ahead and told the resort and our dinner reservations that we were going to be celebrating our honeymoon. I've heard that is good to do, in order to get those "special perks".
It sounds like your were treated very well, BoBo!

King Fergus, thank you! We booked the CG for our first night there! I've read that even if your dinner doesn't coincide with the fireworks time, they will let you stay and watch from the restaurant? Is that true?

NhShorty, hi neighbor! Thank you! I see you are going in two months! You must be so excited. Are you staying at a disney resort? I can't wait to enjoy the advantages of staying on-site. Have a great time! I'm sure you will be excited to get away from this snow, finally yay

Yes...We had an ADR on our last trip (2012.) and before we ordered our sweet..The lights dimmed and we went outside to the viewing area..The music gets piped in..Awesome..

Oops..Just read your question again..Yes..If you happen to be dining early..Keep your receipt..as there is a private elevator to the 15th floor..

Yeah, it was totally amazing, truly unforgettable. Got to say, we visited Boston last year on vacation and had a great time there. Lovely city and friendly people.

Hi Amy! Thank you!

BoBo, thank you for the positive feedback from your trip to Boston! I'm glad to hear you had a good experience. It's a fantastic city with so much history. Proud to be from there Smile I was actually in Disney last April when I got the call from home about the marathon. It was comforting to be in such a friendly place with great people - all giving us kind words while we were away from home.
If you visit again, please let me know and I can give you some tips and places to see!

We've got a lot of cities on our 'Places to visit US' list and Boston was quite high on it due to all of it's history. We were there two weeks before that terrible day, so our thoughts were with you guys.

Hello Amy and welcome & congrats on the upcoming wedding. I'm sure you will enjoy the Cali Grill, it is awesome, we go 3 or four time a year. The manager Gary has an amazing cast that works under him. You can go back to see the fireworks as long as you keep your reciept like Fergus said. You may get lucky and get a window seat , but the entire place incredible.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Congrats on the upcoming wedding and honeymoon. Disney is the best when it comes to honeymoons. We spent ours there and got lots of neat perks. Try breakfast at the Wave since you are staying at the Contemporary it is amazing.

Thank you for the Wave recommendation. I've never been. Is that a good place to grab breakfast every morning? I also saw that they have a cafe type restaurant, too.

Welcome SoonToBeMrsScott! Boston is on my bucket list--just haven't been able to pry myself away from Disney long enough yet!

We did Disneymoon, but we did not realize the importance of good planning at the time! Based on what I've learned since, our ability to walk up and get a table at Cinderella's Royal Table on a day when the park entrance closed because Magic Kingdom was at capacity (New Year's Eve), must have been a little piece of Disney magic. Glad you're approaching your trip more wisely than we did!!

Hello, all! Thank you! We will be staying at the Contemporary. We have both been many times, but this time we are looking for a different experience! Definitely one that is more relaxing and romantic Smile
Any tips for us?? We will be spending more time at our hotel pool and taking advantage of the perks of staying on-site!

Hello to all of my "neighbors"! Ready to see some sunshine, how about you??

Alicemouse - I hope you make it to Boston at some point! It is beautiful in all four seasons, but I do not blame you for wanting to be in Disney Smile Let me know if you plan a trip and I will be more than happy to send along recommendations!

Thanks!! Will definitely take you up on the offer. Harvard, Fenway (I'm a Red Sox fan every year as soon as my beloved O's eliminate themselves from post season contention), and Bull & Finch definitely feature on our list of must-sees. I guess we ought to do some historical stuff, too wink
