Hiya from Arkansas!

I've been a member for a few days now, and I have another post on another section of the forum, but I completely forgot to introduce myself! (even though I'm not quite sure what to say)

Hi guys! My name is Brandi, I'm from Arkansas muchlove
Just from looking at the map I think I'm the only one from this state but there could be a few more floating around here.

I'm going on my very first trip to WDW with my boyfriend in September yay

I'm guessing that's all I should say? If you have any questions feel free to ask!

XOXO Brandi

We'll be there September 11th and head home on the 17th.
We were planning to stay off-site to save money but we decided since it was my first time, I should have the full experience and chose to stay at the Port Orleans French Quarter.

We're actually making it into a road trip as well so we're leaving AR one the 10th, drive most of the way, then check in on the 11th. We're getting 4 park tickets (a ticket for each park, I'm assuming?). That means we'll have 2 non-park days, but I'm not sure what I want to do those days?! I know I want to go shopping hahah laugh

We haven't made any reservations yet confused
We were waiting to see if everything is good with getting off of work, but should we go ahead and start making reservations before we get the okay?
I'm sure everything will go through but how early should I make the reservations?

Welcome, Princess Brandi!

The shortest lead time we've planned a trip on was 3 weeks and it was for the end of summer/early fall season. We had no trouble getting a room or booking dining reservations that were interesting to us at that time, but the very most popular restaurants will be booked by now. Dining reservations are open as early as 6-months out and some of the most popular restaurants book full within hours of that window opening up. There are still tons of great places to eat that will have availability at 2-months out and there are lots of great counter service options that don't require a reservation at all. Disney also charges a $10 no-show fee for dining reservations, so more people are being courteous and canceling reservations that no longer work in their schedule. Be Our Guest is one of the most popular dinner reservations and we've seen it available same-day due to a cancelation.

I would try to get your trip booked by July 11 to get the maximum 60 day fast pass window--especially if a visit with Anna & Elsa or the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are on your list of must-do's. Luckily going in September, the standby wait times will likely be some of the lowest of the year, so even if you don't get your must-have fast passes, you'll still be able to enjoy a ton of attractions and have a great time!!

Congratulations on your first trip and welcome to the forum yay mickey

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your first trip to The World!! Staying on sight is a must for my DH and I - to us that's part of the vacation. And I agree with alicemouse, try to get your room reservation booked by July 11th and then you can set up My Disney Experience on the WDW website in order to book your FastPasses. If you have any more questions, just ask away and we'll be happy to help out.

Welcome, Brandi!

Since you're staying on-site, are you going to go ahead and book the Free Dining Plan that's going on now? I think the offer's up soon, but it may be worth checking out. With the kids heading back to school then, there may still be some restaurant ressies available to snag.

I hope y'all have a great time!

Oh, and Allie's totally right about Downtown Disney...such a fun, festive, shop-filled atmosphere!

So there's good new and there's bad news..

Good news is I finally got the letter saying I've been accepted to dental assisting school. yay

Bad news is it starts literally 1 day after we are scheduled to get back from WDW.

So after a long talk and some tears (I won't say who from (me)) we've decided to hold off on the trip.
Which may not completely be a bad thing, it gives me more time to plan and get reservations, and also to save up a little more money so I get to stay at any resort of my choosing (he only agreed to this because I was crying) biggrin yeah

I've already picked dates too! First week of May 2015 muchlove

Now that we're going all out, where should we stay?!

XOXO Brandi

Bummer about the trip delay but it sounds like it's for a good reason and May will be here before you know it!

I am sorry to hear that your trip will be delayed but like you said it gives you more time to save and plan. And good luck and congrats on starting in dental assistant school.

Congratulations on getting into the school of your choice. There are many on the forum that love PORS. We are big fans of pop. If I were ever to go delux I would go with the beach or yatch club as Epcot and hollywood studios have our favorite things.
