Holiday Lights on Your WDW Balcony?

Has anyone ever decorated their hotel room or balcony for the holidays? I know that it's a growing trend, that I find both interesting and amusing.

If you have decorated your room for the holidays? Do you have any pictures? I'd love to show them off in an article I'm writing! Please share your thoughts on guest decorated windows, rooms, and balconies at Walt Disney World.

I thought, though i may be worng, that you are not allowed to decorate balconies? I thought I read it somewhere that it ruins the theme of the hotel...

There is a thread I saw yesterday on another message board that is about how it ruins the theme. However it was just people chatting, there was nothing official. Maybe I'll call down later and find out of there is an official policy. When we were there at the beginning of the month we saw people at the Contemporary Bay Lake Tower that had their balcony decorated for Halloween and it made me wonder how many people decorate at Christmas time.

I know you're not allowed to decorate your balcony at Animal Kingdom..maybe that's what they you heard Robyn?

We stayed at Pop at Christmas and saw tons of decorations in windows. I know some people have brought mini-trees and decorated their rooms as well. I think it's a great way to celebrate.

Yeah... AKL for sure because of the Animals. Just the chance of it all falling off or even the animals getting into it is the reason.

YES! YES! YES! I am a huge decorator of my room and hotel balconies at WDW! Before I was a DVCer, we would stay at All Stars or Riverside and our windows were awesome. We would decorate the inside of our rooms with garland and ghosts and Christmas lights galore. Even now we have our balcony at Bay Lake Tower decorated for Halloween. And we always decorate the outside of our door (bonus it makes it easier to find too). Last October, we had our MK view room at Bay Lake decorated with orange pumpkin lights and bright white ghosts. As we went past on the monorail, people would say hey look at that room. It is totally fun! Smile

That must have been so cool to hear people pointing out your room!

Have you ever had any problems with decorating from housekeeping or management at all?

Welcome, BayLakeGirl! We're glad to have you here and look forward to hearing more about your visits!

I believe I saw a balcony decorated a couple of weeks ago when I was at Boardwalk. I can't the theme though...must have been Halloween, I guess.
