The Honeymoon That Almost Didn't Happen...

Day 1

We got to the airport and told we had to do full check in cause of hubby's visa. Stood in line for about an hour got to a lovely man who checked us in (with a little difficulty cause of visa, see the pattern here?) and asked us if we wanted extra legroom, we said no as we cant afford it. We then went for breakfast and had a very small wander round the shops before it was time to board. When we go to boarding gate we were called back and our tickets changed, they had moved us so extra legroom seats! Flight was good, unfortunately hubby's headphone didnt work, they had broken in the socket so he couldnt put any in! Didnt tell the man until late cause we didnt think they could do anything but he said he would see what sort of suprise he could do for us and seeing as it was our honeymoon he got us a big bottle of champagne!

Got to customs, i went through no problems and again Sy's visa came into it as he was karted off for more questioning! The questions were 'how long are you staying?' and 'is this your first trip to the US' and then he came back, by which time i had all the cases and was sitting waiting (and panicing!)
Got to car hire desk, had to pay $200 deposit and had all troubles, had to pay cash in the end oh well!

Went to pick up car and the old man in the desk with all the keys looked at the number we were supposed to have and crossed it out and gave us another one..... he gave us a SUBARU 4X4!! Can't believe that! The other car was just the basic - i know cause i went to look! I didnt tell him we were on our honeymoon (though my top might have given it away, it said Mrs Watson on the front and Just Married on the back).

When we got to the hotel the man was in a bit of a bad mood, not really bad just bad in america standards, no smiling etc. I told him we were on on our honeymoon and he didnt really say anything but gave us the keys and off we went...... to our SUITE! He's upgraded us! Our room is massive, big bed, sofa, table & chairs, big LCD tv, Fridge, microwave, sink.... its gorgeous!

We unpacked as much as we could - need more hangers! - and went to wild jacks for dinner. Sy had an amazing steak and i had chicken with BBQ sauce, baacon and cheese on.

Then we fell asleep as soon as our heads touched the pillows.

Now its 6am and ive been up since 5. Hubby was sleeping but he's awake now and we're gonna go down for breakfast soon. Think we're gonna go to Universal today.....

Day 2

Woke up at 5:00am and couldn't get back to sleep, way too excited i think! Went down for breakfast at 7am and had some french toast, now, I've never had it before but i thought i'd try it as if I didn't like it i knew hubby would eat it lol. Well i needn't have worried as it was YUMMY! After brekkie we went back to the room to get ready for our day ahead, we decided to go to Universal Studios on day one as its not a big park and there aren't many 'big' rides there - hubby wouldn't go on Rip Ride Rocket as it was 'too much' for the first day (wuss!!).

Had a few people stop us to say congratulations cause we were wearing Mrs Watson and Mr Watson t-shirts. We had lunch which was pizza for me and chicken strips for hubby (hubby! wow).

We ended up soaking from playing in curious george's playground so then made our way out.

Went back to the hotel, got changed and went to find a supermarket. Bought a few supplies, drinks, few micro snacks (hot pockets), some doritoes and dips and some fresh fruit, came to $35!! Couldn't believe it for what little we had! We decided to go back to drop things off at the hotel but then we were so tired we decided just to have some of the snacks and go to bed. I think i went to sleep about 10 and slept till 7:30am, must have been tired!

Day 3

Got up for breakfast but was very busy down there, had to sit on 2 armchairs and not at a table. Was very disappointed there was no french toast! I had a bagel but there wasn't any butter today for some reason so i had peanut butter on one half but it was so dry i ended up having maple syrup on the second - not healthy but hey i'm on holiday! Went back to our room to get ready to go and off we set for Seaworld. Got there just after opening so we got in very quickly. We did most things but left out manta, atlantis, dolphins and stingrays, i know they're the best bits but we were so tired by that point we decided to go back another day to do them. Saw the shamu show, Dolphin show & Sealion show.

some wonderful pic's! Went to aquatica for an hour or so afterwards to cool off, didnt go on any slides just went in the lazy river for a few times round. Then went back to the hotel for a shower, now we're sitting watching Men In Black on the TV and having a rest before heading to downtown disney for dinner tonight!

...............

Went to DTD for dinner and went to Rainforest cafe for dinner. We shared a starter and had a main each, that's all we could manage (and we didn't even finish that!).

We then had a wander around DTD to take in the atmosphere.

Day 4

Woke up early as i was itching really bad, after posting on here and googling i think it was bed bugs so at 6am we were changing rooms - fun!!! After all that hoohaa we went to have breakfast but it was rather disappointing (again), no butter for the toast or bagels, no jam or peanut butter either so it was honey or cream cheese (of which neither i eat) so came back to room and had pineapple which we had got from walmart and then went back to sleep till about lunchtime lol. When I finally got hubby out of bed (he was so sleepy bless him) we went to IOA, got SOAKED on Popeyes bildge rat barges - went on it twice!

Came back about 6pm and got changed and went out to walmart to buy some more supplies and got hubby some swimming shorts, couldn't get them in the UK. We just got take away for dinner as we went to rainforest cafe the night before and over spent so we were compensating.

Day 5

Woke up early again, couldn't sleep so Skyped my mum back home to say hello. Went down for breakfast and was slightly better than yesterday, they had some vegetable spread in a squeezie, wasn't good but it was alot easier to eat that way (not so dry). Went to Animal Kingdom and got honeymoon badges, everyone was talking to us and saying congratulations, was so lovely! Didn't manage to get the Mr & Mrs ears though, couldn't get any groom ones and I didnt want to wear them without hubby. Our T-shirts went down well though, we both had navy blue tops, Hubby's said 'Hers' and mine said 'His'.

Lion king was amazing, made me really well up!

Wasn't too keen on Everest, the backwards bit in the dark made me feel sick but i get motion sickness anyway.... We were suprised with a free dessert at lunchtime cause we were on our honeymoon, they even told hubby to pick what he would like! We chose a chocolate mousse thing and ate it all himself (i dont like chocolate but didnt mind).

Came back to hotel after parade and just checking emails and hubby has one from his job telling him he no longer has one!! I wont go on about it but less just say things were starting to look up and now they're straight back down again. His boss didn't even have the decency to tell him face to face or even over the phone. Plus he's trying to get away with no notice period to pay! I'm cross because even the day before our wedding he was working his ass for off for the company cause he was so snowed under with work, just goes to show how under appreciated he was! 2 redundancies this year for him now, just not good!
So now we're sat in the room worrying - well he's not but i am! Why is it men dont seem to worry about these things??

Anyway, back from dinner now, we went to Outback on Kirkman road, it was AMAZING, best food we've had here so far and really quite cheap too! Def worth a visit for those coming soon!

Day 6

Woke up late and missed breakfast, so got dressed and went to Macdonalds as its only down the road and on the way out anyway.... Least thats what we reasoned I had a horrible pannini, it had a sauce on it that had herbs in but the herbs had such a strange resemblance to certain small curly hairs - it was really off putting lol!! Anyway we then went to Wet and wild for a few hours, did a few rides, the bubba something or other and a few of the smaller flumes, we'll save the big ones for when its not half term so quieter, I can't stand for long periods so cant wait in queue lines for long. Went back to the hotel to shower and get ready for HHN.... got there in time to do Jimmy Neutrons (which we missed the other day) and then went to get a drink and wait for the park to empty. First we went to Saw as we knew that it would have the longest queues later in the night (we needn't have worried as no queue had over 45 mins in the regular lines and we had express passes so didnt wait more than 10 mins). We did all the shows and houses in 1 night which we were really impressed with - we even managed to go on jaws in the dark! Unfortunately my disability was playing up so Hubby had to push my round in a wheelchair not that he minded - i do though lol. Was funny when we jumped though cause he kept grabbing me!! I liked the way they did the Wolfman, I didn't find any very scary though, thought the scare zones were much better, took a few videos of them including the new one they had just for this week.

Day 7

Woke up early - very strange considering what a late night we had! Went to Golden Corral for breakfast at 8:30. Was really nice but we were a bit pants and only managed to eat 2 plates each - and they were small plates, one of which was fruit! After brekkie we came back to the hotel and fell back to sleep till 1pm hahahaha. Then we got up and went to Celebration - it really is breathtaking & I would reccommend it to anyone. It was lovely looking at all the houses ready for halloween. We stopped at the very very quiet village and had ice cream while sitting on the rocking chairs overlooking the lake, was wonderful. We're hoping to go back to have dinner one day, I read on here that there's a good place to eat but I can't remember where so will do some digging and find out. Its been the hottest day of the holiday today, 93 at one point!! Record highs according to the TV. Too hot to sit in the sun that's for sure. We went to look at Disney's Animal Kingdon lodge afterwards and went inside to have a look around and went out back to see the animals, it was brilliant, the giraffe's were right there being fed! After that we drove along the 192 having a look and now back at the hotel before going out for dinner, we havent decided where yet, possibly Tony Roma's or Hooters.

Day 8

Went to Magic Kingdom today, woke up early and went without breakfast, whoops! Didn't think about it till we were in the car on the way there... We took the boat over to MK, Hubby was so excited! Managed to get me some bride ears but still can't get any grooms ears Still we had our badges on. We're possibly quite sad but we decided to count how many people said congratulations to us but about half an hour into the day and 16 people later we gave up. It might sound sad that we wanted to count but it made us feel so special that everyone talked to us and wished us well, not just cast members but people who were tourists like us, sometimes its easy to forget how nice people are We met the disney princess's Belle told me I had my very own beast (hubby had a lot of stubble!) and they all asked us how our honeymoon was going.

We waited to meet Woody and just as we got to the front he had to go 'call Buzz' and then took aaaaaaages coming back! But it was worth it cause he brought Jessie!

We didn't get everything we wanted to done so we're going back later this week. We watched the lights parade and its like nothing I've ever seen before, def my fav parade! While we were waiting we made friends with some people who were from the village outside manchester where hubby went to school, small word eh?! As we ate late in the park we didnt want any dinner when we got back so we put a movie on and fell asleep.

Day 9

Woke up STARVING this morning so went to IHOP for breakfast, best breakfast so far! OMG those pancakes are amazing! We're going back there before we come home that's for sure.... Then we went shopping and i got some Juicy Couture bottoms (my weakness) and hubby got some tops from CK in the sale with his birthday money that he'd saved esp for holiday shopping. We then went to SeaWorld to see the last showing of Shamu Rocks, plus we needed to do a few things that we'd missed out last time - like Manta. I think Manta might be a marmite ride, hubby loved it, i HATED it. It really made my head hurt and i thought i was going to be sick on it, I've been on air which is a bit like it, in alton towers, loads of times and dont feel like that on there so i think it must just be the track on manta rather than the flying coaster itself. Hubby said it was his fav ride to date though. Watched Shamu rocks and saw the people we made friends with the night before (I had told them it was the last show of the season so if they were planning on going then that would be a good day to go and they did!). Got home and had a shower and got changed and went to Tony Roma's for dinner. Had an amazing meal! Our Server was an Oriental guy called Antony and he was so lovely & friendly, kept coming back to chat to us when he wasn't busy. The food was delicious, will be going back there before we go home that's for sure!

Day 10

Woke up and went down for breakfast, really disappointing again but hey ho its a free breakfast after all. Went to Hollywood Studios today,

We seemed to spend the day going from show to show, didnt get on many rides at all actually - other than Tower of Terror in the dark... That was really good!

Oh and the great Movie ride - which broke down while we were on it - oops! Going back there again this week to do the last of the rides and the Little Mermaid Show which we didnt get to do. Had take out for dinner as we were so shattered and I wasn't feeling too well. Went to popeyes drive through which was around the corner - we so need to get popeyes to come to the UK, i love their chicken strips!

Day 11

Woke up and decided to get breakfast out as we're getting a bit sick of the rubbish brekfasts in the hotel, ended up going to macdonalds as we needed petrol and it was next door and easy, was suprisingly good though. Went onto Epcot then.

I love love loved the World showcase with all the different foods, they have a food and wine festival on at the min so they had loads more than usual and they had tiny tasters which were great cause you could get 1 thing from all of them and share it, we ate so much that we're going without dinner again! Went to test Track 4 times, i love that ride! Soarin was brilliant, even better than i remembered it. Hubby went on mission space but as i get motion sickness i decided against it and waited for him outside. The Ellen show that lasts 45 mins is great too, I hadn't done it before as it lasts so long and you cant get out I have always worried about needing to get out if I'm feeling ill but I decided to brave it today and so pleased I did, we really enjoyed it.

Day 12

Woke up early with tummy ache So as we were up fairly early and we went to the IHOP for breakkie again, was just as good! Then went to Hollywood studios to finish off what we didnt do the other day plus go on Tower of terror again twice, i love that ride. First time we went there was an old man sitting next to me who looked like he was having a heart attack when it first started and he grabbed hold of me, that set me off laughing the whole ride! The second time our lift was more than half empty and next to me was the tiniest girl who had already been on it twice and had dragged her dad on it who screamed like a girl the whole time and said afterwards he wasn't going again lol. We watched The Little Mermaid show and did the One man's Dream show which is all about Walt disney's Dream and there were talks with him that he'd recorded before he died, we were in there about 45 mins in total with the short film at the end, very interesting though. Came home early and stopped at popeyes chicken for some munch on the way, didn't get much, just enough to keep us going till we went out for dinner later. Went to Outback again and had another fab dinner, ate so much we were bursting at the seams! I love the cocktail called Wallaby Darned, its peaches, vodka and champagne i think, whatever it is, its GOOOOOD lol

Day 13

We had intended to go to busch gardens today but hubby was feeling tired so we decided to stay closer to home and go back to do the things we missed/wanted to do again at Universal and IOA. I went on Rip Ride Rocket and thought I was going to come out of my seat! Plus I had my hair in pigtails and it kept smacking me in the face lol (my hair's pretty long). Hubby didn't want to go on it so he just queued up with me and then walked through to the exit when I went on.

Did the beetlejuice show which I've never done before but really enjoyed, think it was the same cast as rocky horror from last week? Got a starbucks and hubby left the refillable drinks cup in there and when we went back it had gone oh well! He did then have a mini moan at me even though he's the one who carries it, said it was my fault as i hadnt noticed he'd left it behind!! and he was serious! lol told him where to go we then went on disaster and then over to IOA to do the stunt show, Jurassic park, Ripsaw falls & Bildge Rat Barges twice, by that time we were soaked through and came back to the hotel.

Had a shower and got changed ready to go out for dinner. Went to TGI fridays, hubby had a fab dinner but i hated mine i hate pepper and it was on everything, my chips were covered in it so i hardly ate any of them plus my chicken sandwich was really processed mushed up chicken bits stuck back together, it was really tasteless too - oh well, will know for next time!

Plan for tomorrow is busch if hubby can drag himself out of bed that is!

Day 14

Went to Busch Gardens today. Got up early to get most time there, had breakfast at the hotel but it was a bit of a let down as per usual. I drove there as I've done it before and hubby was sign watching just in case I got lost We got there and the park was empty! We didn't go on much really as hubby was getting the start of a cold and my disability was playing up and didnt want hubby pushing me around as he was feeling poorly. We sat and had lunch in the main bit where you go in and the birds were comin gup to us and taking food from our hands! They did kinda freak me out a bit cause they were so big but that didn't stop us feeding them you're not really supposed though cause they can be pests.

Hubby drove home cause I'd overdone it a bit walking round (its a big place!). When we came home we released some heart paper lanterns into the sky, we had bought them to use at the wedding but we forgot to use them!

Day 15

Woke up a bit late today and decided to skip breakfast (naughty naughty eh?) and went to Wet and Wild. Hubby had now come down with a cold so he wasn't feeling great so we only stayed about 2 hours before going back to the hotel. Noticed loads of traffic on the way home but thought nothing of it, got back to the hotel and put the TV on and we see there had been a shooting in Downtown Orlando. Decided to stay in for the afternoon as hubby was feeing ill and the I4 was closed as they hadn't caught the guy so was a bit scared to be honest!!
Had a shower washed hair etc to kill some time (my hair is very thick and curly so takes HOURS) then went for dinner at Citywalk, not sure of the name of where we went but it was like a Nascar place or something? TBH we weren't really impressed, food wasn't great but expensive and it was very noisey so we couldn't have a conversation. Went home after and went to bed as hubby was still feeling ill with manflu. waiting

Day 16

Hubby said he felt a bit better today so we went to Aquatica, not the most sensible but it was the only place we hadn't been (other than for half hour one day) and it was the day out seaworld ticket ran out! Went to IHOP for breakfast and then off we went. The water was much warmer here than wet and wild we noticed but cause of the strong winds we found it hard to get out of the water again lol. We did a few rides before we decided it jut wasn't worth getting so cold so we had a shower and left. We then went shopping to the prime outlets and had the most amazing cream puff from Beard Papa's (seriously, go there when you're there and have one with a mango ice shower, worth every penny!!) and had a wander around the shops for a bit though didnt buy anything. We then got some Taco Bell's as we were hungry and went back to the hotel. As we'd had lunch really late we didn't really want dinner but we decided to go to Pointe Orlando to wander round.......... what a waste of time that was!! Nothing there and it was dead and it was only 8:30pm!

Day 17

Went to Magic Kingdom as we didn't do all the things we wanted to the last time. Went on to the Laughter Lounge twice, that show is so funny! Had me almost wetting myself lol.

Went to find a spot for the fireworks and spotted the dessert party, oh my god i want to do that next time (you had to book and there was no room for us) if they still have it that is! After the fireworks we got in the car and headed to DTD and went to Planet Hollywood for Dinner, we had a really nice time, the food was brilliant (yes a bit expensive though) and service was good, not rushed or forgotten about as i've heard from other people. We will go back there again next holiday that's for sure.

Day 18

We were orginially going to go to Clearwater today but because of the winds from IDA we decided to spend another day at Disney. We went to MK and took the Monorail to Epcot as you go around epcot and its nice to have a look around. We met Marie from Aristocats, Belle & Mulan.

Did a few things there and wandered around the world and then went to Animal Kingdom for the Safari, Dinosar and the rapids (got SOAKED to the skin). Then we came back and got changed ready to meet Steve (someone we had become friendly with from another disney fourm, he was holidaying on his own) for dinner. Went to Tony Roma's for all you can eat ribs, I had a starter and chicken for main and the guys had ribs, and more ribs and then some more thrown in lol. Steve was so lovely, sharing all his tips for us and we shared ours with him too (some of which he did the next day which was a real compliment!) hope to see him again after we come home or on our next holiday, who knows!

Tomorrow......

We're off to miami!

Day 19

Wake up and pack everything away. We'd been here so long now we'd taken over the whole suite! I don't know how we ended up with so much stuff when we hardly shopped!! We packed so we only needed one bag out and we could pack the other 3 and not need them in Miami. It was a really grey day today, cloudy and miserable.

Checked out of the hotel and went to IHOP for breakfast before we left Orlando, we were really disappointed to be leaving, really wanted to change our minds and not go to Miami but we had booked and paid for everything and we were looking forward to spending time with Simon's friends who live there (I hadn't met them before).

Breakfast was good, soon as we finished we hit the road, well we tried to, we went to 3 different shops to buy a map, can't believe how hard it was! Anyway we managed to get one and off we went....

We decided to take the 'pretty' route and drive along the coast. A note to anyone who decides to do this, NEVER DO IT! Lol. We were enjoying it till about 4 hours later when we weren't even half way there! Was lovely to see all those beautiful houses along the beach though.

Got to Miami after a looooooooooooooooooooong day on the road. Found our hotel ok, got a bit lost as our map didnt go into that much detail but we got there in the end. It was right on SouthBeach s we were very excited. When we got there we were a bit disappointed It looked okay but not the luxury we had seen on the website. The rooms were SOOOO dark you couldn't see!! And when you opened the curtains we had the view into the next door hotel's room. All in all it was okay, but glad we were only there for 3 nights. Just after we finished unpacking we heard a dog bark. When then relised it was 2 dogs and they were in the next room. And they barked and barked and barked. When e told the front desk they asked if we wanted to move but after a long day and having just unpacked we said no, he assured us the owner would be back soon and the dogs would be ok then and we were too tired to argue.

(photo's were taken with the light on, during the day WITH the flash on!!)
We went out for dinner, we decided to walk along the sea front and see which place took our fancy. Unfortunately for us the restaurants there all had staff out the front trying to get you to go inside, I personally really dont like that, i am a fussy eater i like to be able to look at the menu without being bombarded to eat there. We went to a place we had driven past earlier when looking for our hotel and it looked nice. The food was less than average the guy forgot to put our starter through and only told us when he brought our mains. They weren't very good really. I decided to have dessert but it was so bad i didnt eat it When we sat down they offered us buy one get one free cocktails, i'm not a bir drinker but as they were BOGOF I decided that I would have one with hubby, as it happens i didnt drink it cause i didnt like it so he did. We asked our waiter if they had to be the same drink and he said no so we ordered different things. When the bill came with both drinks on there I pointed it out to our waiter and he then told us it was BOGOF for EACH person, i e we would have to have 2 each. I told him that I didn't drink mine (i did order a coke soon after getting the cocktail as i didnt like it) and he told us we were trying to con him!! We were NOT happy at this so when we left we left a minimal tip (and then ran and it was that sort of place i wouldn't put it past them to follow us!).

All in all, not a good start to Miami, can we go back to Orlando now?

Day 20

Woke up mid morning. As the room was so dark we didnt rise with the sun as we had been doing earlier on the trip. Breakfast wasn't included with our room so we decided we would go out (rather than pay $20 for some pancakes). Before we went out I hooked up my laptop and book tickets on the Miami Duck Tour That I had found online before we left the UK. We booked our tickets for the 1pm tour. We showered and dressed and drove up to find it and then drove back (no parking) and walked up as it wasn't that far. We ended up having macdonalds to eat and then headed over there.

The woman in the shop wasn't very helpful or nice, total shock from the people in Orlando! She was on the phone to someone when we were there and hung up on them all cause they asked if they still rn in the bad weather! Anyway she informed us that they weren't having a 1pm tour today so we were on the 3pm one instead, we were not very impressed by that but not a lot we could do about it. So we went for a wander round the shops. I bought a lovely jumper dress from Guess and then we went to Starbucks and had a drink and to people watch. Went back at 2:30pm and hung around the boat/bus until we boarded.

The trip was great, the best thing we did in Miami by far! If anyone is ever going to do a tour in Miami its the best tour there is. The guy on the tourbus makes it what it is, he was so funny! If you do go though, don't book it online, just go into the shop as its about $5 each cheaper in the store. We saw loads of amazing houses too.

We spoke to Simon's friends that day who told us of a good restaurant to go to in the evening for a good pizza. Again we were a bit disappointed with it, the waiter forgot about us so we waited for ages to get the bill, which wasn't very good cause we were meeting Simon's friends afterwards.

We took a taxi to their flat as advised by them, all I can say is wow! It was AMAZING! They lived in the 'Flamingo' flats which were obviously very posh. We had a great time with them, they made me feel very welcome considering they just met me! We sat out on the balcony and watched the world go by with a few drinks (well soft for me!). They told us where to go the next day for the everglades tours so thats what we decided to do the next day. When it came to leave they asked if we would like to go for dinner the following evening, it would also mean we could get to meet their 2 children.

We went back to the hotel by taxi, it was a bit far to walk plus taxi's are so cheap out there. Fell into bed and slept like logs.

Day 21

Woke about 10am, went downstairs to look at having breakfast, after seeing the cost we decided we would get breakfast on the way to the Everglades. We found, you guessed it, an IHOP! lol

Our friends last night had told us the way to go where there were loads of air boat rides.... I think we went wrong, but we did end up at an Aligator Farm, it was REAL hick's vill denim dungarees, chewing straw, you get the picture! The boat ride itself was great but they way they treated the animals left little to be desired we didnt stay to look around though, we got on the boat pretty much as soon as we got there and then left straight afterwards.

As we had gone wrong, it took HOURS to get there and HOURS to get back

When we got back we got showered and ready to go out for dinner and met our friends at Lincon road where they told us to meet them. We wandered up and down for a little bit just taking in the atmosphere. We then went with them to a great Chinese. As I'm a fussy eater they suggested things for me to try as there wasn't much on the menu that we get back home, it was lovely! I sat next to their little girl who was gorgeous too, I was very taken with her

It was very dark and moody inside, i liked it though, and the staff were really lovely.

Our friends also paid for us as a wedding present as they coudn't make it to the wedding, how lovely of them was that?! I was really chocked it was the first time that they had ever met me.

Afterwards we headed out for an ice cream for me and their little girl and our friends wanted to take Simon to try some Cuban Coffee.... little thimble sized cups to drink from. It was very surreal, it was dark by then and it was a hole in the wall where you got it from and it was surrounded by cops drinking their coffee, if fact 1 man even came up to the cops and said someone had threatened him down one of the streets and the cops said 'ah well, dont go back there then' LOL. Sy loved the coffee, so much so that he had enough to keep him up until gone 4am!!!! I wasn't best pleased at being kept up by the TV!

After we had finished the coffee and ice cream we said goodbye they gave us a lift back to the hotel in their big car. Felt very sad going back up to the hotel room, Miami wasn't all we had expected, but it was made so much better by meeting up with friends.

Tomorrow, our last day..........

Day 22 - AKA, our last day Sad

Woke up after a rather restless sleep (thanks to Simon's new taste for cuban coffee!!) and it really dawned on us that we were leaving and going home

We got showered & dressed and packed up our things, checked out of the hotel and loaded the car.

We drove around for a bit looking for somewhere to get some breakfast, eventually we found somewhere so perfect for our last day.................. yep you guessed it, IHOP! Had a fab last breakfast

Afterwards we drove along south beach, found somewhere to park and went for a paddle, it really is such a beautiful beach!

And then we headed to the airport for a very sad journey home

MIA was like any other airport, nothing more nothing less, however they did have free WIFI so I pulled out my laptop and sent a few emails home before the flight.

Once on board we were very pleased to discover that we had VOD this time, as on the way out into Orlando we just have the video's on loop. I actually ran out of time on the flight home to watch all of the movie's that I wanted to - I didn't get much sleep lol!

Arrived home to LHR to a huge welcome party of my parents, Simon's parents, My aunt and uncle and my sister, BIL and my neice. They had banners, confetti and balloons and MIL even had a bouquet for me! It made coming home so much nicer!

Afterwards.......

It took a long time to get back into the swing of things with the jet lag (soon regretted the VOD ) and it took Simon quite a few months to get another job after being made redundant via email on our 3rd day. But that said, the job he is in now is fantastic and he hasnt been this happy with work for a very long time.

The only thing I would change about it is that we had no money so we missed out on doing so much but we're going again this year for our first anniversary with both sets of parents (mine and his!) so we can try to do all of the things we wished we could do last year but couldnt afford.

That said, our Honeymoon was amazing and made so much better that I was on holiday not just with my new husband, but also my best friend

I think I'm going to read it in increments, saving a couple of days of trip report for each morning! Thank you for writing this for us. What a great way to continue the excitement for our upcoming trip!

I'm glad you mentioned that you added the pics. I had looked through it earlier and hadn't seen them. I thought maybe my computer was malfunctioning!

That pizza was from Universal, right near ET.

Hub wanted to give t a miss cause he was wrried about getting on and then not fitting in it - he has big tum and big legs (legs from playing rugby) so was touch and go on the test seat and he didnt want the humiliation if he sat on there and had to get of again Sad poor hubs

What an incredible trip report!!! I loved the pics and you and hubby are too adorable! You're both just lovely.

I can't believe he got that email on the third day! That's crazy! I'm so glad you didn't let it ruin your holiday; I would have been worried sick.

If you ever want some popeye's, just let me know and I'll ship some over! ;D

Thee used to be one my home town but it closed down sad but there are 3 left in the UK, all north east London, the closest is about an hour and a half's drive away (but I'm seriously contemplating it!)

I'll have some chicken strips/tenders (cant remember what they're called!) and a few biscuits - thanks! LOL laugh

Yeah the email sucked, how awful would a person have to be to do that to someone while on their honeymoon?? He's in a better job that he loves now though so I guess it all woked out in the end yay

I'm really glad this report was written long after the fact. Had I read it at the time I would have been furious at the email firing and worried about whether he could find a new job. Since I get to read it after he's found a new job that he likes better it's much less stressful. biggrin

Brad it was so scary for those months he was without a job - it was about 4 or 5 months mad but they say things happen for a reason - he's so much happier now - thank you awesome
