How do you celebrate a birthday in the world?

My hubby and i have the same birthday...i know, weird, right? haha The first day of our upcoming trip is our birthday. It'll be the first birthday either of us have had in the world! Saying we're pretty excited is an understatement. How have you celebrated a birthday in the world? Are there any special things you could recommend?

My husband and I celebrated our 40th birthday (we're 3 weeks apart) with dinner at the California Grill. It was amazing!!! They put us at a table by the window with an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom and the table was decorated as was our dessert. I highly recommend it!

Segway tour at Epcot is the bomb! Scrappy & I did that for my 50th last June and it was great. A little rough on the legs though. Also the Wishes Fireworks cruise is nice too, a totally different experience from being in the parks.

Kris- California Grill is a place i have always wanted to eat, but have just never done it. With staying at BLT, i really have no reason not to! And what a nice place for a special occasion.

Mrhub - I mentioned the fireworks cruise to my hubby a couple nights ago! He's not big about being out on water, but i think the experience would be amazing. Are the segways hard to use? How is it hard on your legs?

Manda, you just have to be able to keep balance, plus your pretty much standing the whole time. They take you through a training coarse , and nobody failed our group, but if you have any leg or feet problems, I would recommend to skip it. I didn't have any problems with the Segway, scrappy tried to take off from the group once, rolling .

Also be sure to pick up some Birthday Buttons and wear them, The cast members go out of their way to make your birthday's more festive. And be sure to mention it at check in as well. awesome

A pair of birthday ears, a Birthday button, a few pins and some good friends!

If either of you want to surprise the other, you can also order a special something from the Disney Floral & Gifts place.

As VL says, the buttons will assure you of special attention, and maybe a few surprise goodies along the way yay

A tour would be fun, something like the Wild Africa Trek in AK perhaps?
A photopass photoshoot around your favourite resort? You could even bring along 'birthday' props!
A meal at Victoria & Alberts over at the GF?

It's always nice to do something a little different when you're there for a special occasion

Jeff - I love that picture!

How cool that you both have the same birthday! We have only celebrated my son's and we made sure we got a button and some balloons for him. Definitely get the buttons and a special dinner perhaps?

No because you are using the trip to celebrate your birthday...so you can wear them everyday....plus what are the odds you are going to see the same castmember multiple times in a row

Oh man... I forgot all about that. I must have suppressed it in my mind because of how much it disturbed me...

Thanks for the ideas! Hubby says his only birthday "want" is a to get a hot dog at Casey's Corner for lunch. He's easy to please. biggrin

I think we're going to spend the day at MK, eat at Casey's Corner for lunch, and then take a midday swimming break at the resort pool. Then, we'll head to EP and have a dinner ADR at Teppan Edo. We'll then walk to Beaches and Cream to get some ice cream. Finally, we'll head back to our hotel room to watch Wishes from our MK view balcony at the resort since I've had no luck...yet...talking hubby into a Wishes cruise. I'll just continue to work on that one until I wear him down and he gives in. wink

I like to have dinner at California Grill to celebrate my birthday, and then I wear the birthday button for the trip too.

Another fun way is to do a special tour you have never done, or order some decorations from the Disney Florist.

However you celebrate it, Disney World is a fabulous place to celebrate.
