How Do You Top That Vacation ..

Yesterday I was looking thro our WDW vacations photo album..Started in 2004 and every two years since we make the pilgrimage to the magic place..We have so many awesome memories, however last year we thought it was going to be our last so we pushed the boat out ( so to speak ) and booked our first deluxe resort..Wilderness Lodge for 12 nights...Wow..That day walking into the lobby and my jaw hitting the floor..We had 7 adrs ( 3 of them signature ) and tickets for MNSSHP...This was without a doubt our favourite vacation, and after 5 trips in July, we loved the October visit..So next year we have booked WL for 14 nights in October and at this moment I'm working on how to use our free dining credits to take in some awesome restaurants...Here's my question..What do you do to make sure your next vacation isn't a case of Deja Vu.?..

We always do at least one new thing each trip. Last time it was the FLE, eating at BOG and for the first time hopping over and checking out a monorail resort. This trip we're adding a few nights, going to UNI, adding at least one new restaurant (so no Chefs this time) right now I have about 4 new places to try 3 at resorts, we're going to add at least one date night, kids get cs and we're not. We're also going to do the Boardwalk tour, sounds like fun and up you alley, FREE! Last trip my dh got a bit Disneyed out, so I'm looking to shake things up a bit. With my boys being older we're going to be able to do a few things while they wear themselves out. One MK day we'll be taking a bit of break and going to the POLY, GF and Contemporary. Or depending if we stop for a drink we may do one each day.

Believe it or not Figgy..We don't drink that much alcohol on our Disney trips..If we're having a nice sit down meal then we will have a bottle wine..Last year we had a Bloody Mary at Dawa Bar, ( tho I ended up drinking my wife's ) and a couple of beers at Rose & Crown, and two Margaritas at La Cava..That's about it..Honest.. waiting

ok, ok I believe you! BTW you owe me a new keyboard as the laughing is causing me to spit my coffee across the room. I wouldn't have cared if it was the cheap stuff, but today I'm drinking the organic, fair trade, shade grown dark roast. Sunday splurge!

I'm fortunate in that I'm only a two hour plane ride away from WDW and can go multiple times a year. But I've been so many times that at this point Deja Vu is inevitable. 2-3 times a year, I'm 20 years old, so you do the math...(20x2+8-1)

We try to mix things up as much as possible. So for instance, last trip (January 2015), we didn't do Fantasmic, but we did some different restaurants and did a lot more time at DTD. This coming trip (August 2015) we plan on doing Fantasmic, plus the waterparks (I have not been to Typhoon Lagoon in about two years, so I want to go get in that wave pool...yeah, I'm the weird one hanging out in the nine foot section, riding the waves in) and we'll be staying at Poly for the first time since 2000. We're staying in the villas (not the bungalows because...yeesh). So basically, trying to mix it up and not do the same thing all the time.

There have been some moments/trips that were more memorable. My first trip without my parents with just me and my bestie. That time my brother pulled his tooth on a bus back from DTD. That time I lost my first tooth at AK. Ice skating last summer during Frozen Summer Fun, not to mention all the other Frozen activities. Our first time at BOG when all I could do was stare. The times my brother and I have gone off and hit the parks in a way only two young people can. Good times. Good times.

I'm constantly researching between trips and making notes of new things to try (drinks, snacks, meals), and while we always do a few favorites on repeat, I always try and make at least a few new ADRs. We also stay at a different resort each time. This trip in December will be a completely new experience for me. I'll be traveling with the in-laws who are picking eaters and don't like thrill rides, and we will be traveling for the first time with a toddler in tow. To say this trip will be different is an understatement! eek awesome

Yep^^^

We stay at different hotels each time. We try to book at least one new restaurant and we search out a new and interesting snacks and beverages.
