How many ADRs per day?

Hi all,

I need your thoughts on this one. As I plan my upcoming trip, I want to try new places, especially TS and Character meals. What are your thoughts on booking two ADRs in one day? Too restrictive? Too much food? I was wondering about perhaps a character breakfast like Askerhaus, then an earlier dinner ADR? Or a lunch then a little later dinner ADR? mickey

I've had two ADRs in a day on the deluxe dining plan. It is a lot of food, but if spaced out enough it's not too bad. Have you decided if you are going to do the dining plan?

Thanks, JoAnn! I don't think the dining plan is really cost effective for me...but I am still kind of on the fence. Tables in Wonderland is an option too.

If I am not on the dining plan, then I will not be eating the desserts at every meal (I don't do that anyway) nor drinks, which I also do not do.

Maybe just one a day is a better option, and I can snack/eat light otherwise.

We do two ADRs on most days of our trips. It is a lot of food but it works well for us most of the time. We try to do a early breakfast with dinner around 6ish. For lunch we either share a counter service meal or have a snack to hold us over till dinner.

We do one ADR a day, usually dinner but occasionally a large, late lunch. We don't do the dining plan (we also don't always have dessert or drinks and it's just not a good savings for us), and have the other meal a day (lunch or sometimes a later dinner) counter-service. We're not really breakfast people; we'll have a snack or a granola bar to tide us over until lunch.

We just do the regular dining plan as two large meals per day was too much food for us! I think if you eat lunch at 11 and maybe dinner at 6 or 7, you should be fine!

I think it really depends on your preferences and the experience you want. For us, I can only do 1 ADR a day at most - we park hop alot, and while we usually pick the park to start the day out with, our afternoon and evening plans usually change around depending on crowds, weather, what we want to do at the moment, etc.

So for us, 2 ADRs a day would be a bit too restrictive - it really means we have to actually be at certain places at certain times. And that's more sit-down time that we like to do while at the parks.

We probably do more lunch ADRs than dinner ADRs, though, mainly because our mornings through lunch are pretty much set in advance. And usually, for that reason, the dining plan is not as financially beneficial for us as it might otherwise be. WE're not big eaters so that adds to the equation as well.

I already commented on your other post (whoops!) but I'll add it here as well:

We generally made two ADRs a day for our trip. I didn't find it too constricting at all! We're not big breakfast people so we tended to either do a small quick service option for breakfast (or a granola bar or poptart in the hotel room) and then an ADR for lunch and dinner. DH and I generally shared an app and an entree at each place so that we wouldn't be too full, but I think if you are planning on spreading out the ADRs more then we did (breakfast/dinner or early lunch/late dinner) it shouldn't be a problem.

Also, we did not do the dining plan as we're generally more apps people then dessert people and we felt pretty satisified with splitting most meals so it would not have been financially beneficial for us.

We've never done more than one ADR per day. Last trip we booked two ADRs on some days so we could try new places, but after a much-too-filling meal at our first ADR dinner of the trip (Raglan Road) we trimmed back to just one ADR per day. I could not have handled the amount of food from two ADR meals in one day. Not even if one were a TS breakfast and the other a TS dinner with nothing at all in between.

I frequently have a breakfast and a dinner ADR. I like having those because at least I know that twice a day I'll get to sit down someplace comfortable and have a relaxing meal to recharge before heading back out into the parks.

There was one trip that I did lunch as well (so, 3 a day) and that was just way too much.
