I ama VERY Happy Squirrel!

We have returned from our first magical adventure. Only two things went wrong, me losing my cell phone at Animal Kingdom, and my poor wife Dawn falling onto the dock getting off the Jungle Cruise Tuesday night and bashing her knees prettty good. She was unable to go to any more parks after that. She wasn't too heartbroken about it though, she loved Pop!

This will be very brief. I am still going over the 2500 photos from the trip we took and am currently downloading the ones from Memory Maker.

NOTES about going to Disney World. Full trip report with photos should be up by the weekend.

CRITTER SIGHTINGS : tiny lizards, ibis (too many of these), two parrots, deer, a mouse who acted like he owned the place, two chipmunks, a baby bunny, and one temperamental duck.

Top Attractions : Haunted Mansion, Mission: Space Orange, Soarin', Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Expedition: Everest, Dinosaur!

Wishes! will never get old.
I didn't go back to the resort to nap, not even once. I think Disney has energizing magic
Magic is my favourite park by far.
sunscreen is your friend, especially on the back of your neck! You CAN get sunburned in January
Moleskin is also your friend, so is gold bond foot powder, and advil (all three were a godsend)
fast pass+ rocks my socks
rope drop is a necessity
if you are friendly to cast members good things happen!
Meal plans are awesome
pin collecting and trading is a lot of fun
so is wilderness explorers
didn't have time to do sorcerers of the magic kingdom or Agent P or EPCOT passport
Epcot is big. Really big. You wouldn't believe just how big it is!
Once you are there you do not want to leave
you can survive on 3-4 hours sleep for a week
Disney pillows suck
Mousekeeping are also nice to you if you are nice to them (handfuls of soap and shampoo!)
pop century is great
they take the goofy statue away for the marathon
building 6 is a perfect choice.
TALK to cast members!
Use up remaining meal plan credits by buying other people's meals
give away your mickey balloon too, you wont be able to take it on the plane
school bread, dole whip, waffle cone (the small one is NOT small), pastries and sandwiches in France, churros, colourful cheesecake, cookies the size of your head, monster cupcakes, mickey ice cream bars...
Disney water isn't terrible
Beverly is!
package delivery is awesome
should have purchased park hopper
they have a monster breakfast at sunshine seasons
puffed french toast and bacon cheddar scones at crystal palace
memory maker is great, ask for magic shots!
Illuminations is amazing. Where is the best place to see it?
You will get lost at Hollywood Studios
You may also get lost at Animal Kingdom
you can take meals to your room
do not order beverages from garden grocer. The meal plan includes a bottled drink with every meal AND you get a resuable mug!
Meeting characters is more fun if you prepare for it. Show Dug a squirrel or King Louie a banana... Chip & Dale are very playful. Ask all characters about their friends.
If you have a fast pass for a favorite attraction, do that attraction first thing upon arriving, then use your fast pass if you need to. You might be able to ride without fast pass several times before the lines get too long.
Theme Park visitors hate rain.
Why does 2/3 of visitors leave after the fireworks?

What a great rundown squirrel! You nailed it! Can't wait for the whole report.

I love it when we Grownups go have so much fun.

I need to see Dug just for the squirrel experience alone!

It was truly amazing. Just finished my trip report last night, all thirteen pages of it, but since I lost my cell phone at Animal Kingdom I won't be able to post it till Saturday. We have approximately 3000 photos; from my camera, our CM friend's camera, and from Memory Maker. I am slowly going through them picking out favorites to post on Saturday.

Sounds like you had an amazing trip.

I never take naps, either. There's too much to do!

Thanks for hating Beverly, all the more for ME.

Hollywood Studios is a real maze. I could navigate ALL the other parks after just one visit, but it took me years to learn my way around DHS.

Dug also does not like CATS. And neither do Goofy and Pluto. So it makes for interesting interactions since one or the other of us is usually wearing a cat T-shirt.

Bring on the trip report!
