Whew! It's been a crazy few days! We had our team meeting today and separated duties, programs and projects, so I feel good about what's coming. These first few weeks are generally less busy, since we won't have attendance issues for a bit, or the support of failing kids quite yet, either.
Mostly, we (there are two of us) do attendance and discipline and anything related to that. And while we can't evaluate teachers like the official principal and assistant principals (there are 4), we will be doing a ton of coaching with new teachers and working with student teachers as well. Also, planning smaller events like our curriculum fair and back to school night. And we share a secretary, which is just WEIRD to me, after doing it all myself for 18 years.
Every day will be different. I make a plan and schedule meetings with the understanding that a fight or discipline issue could eat up my whole day. 
Today I went to a meeting, sent a TON of emails, lunch duty, met with some teachers, and worked on a program I work with that I'm keeping. I like that, though...sometimes teaching can get pretty monotonous, even with new students or new books, I tend to feel "in a rut" by Christmas.
But mostly, I won't have to GRADE ESSAYS anymore!
