January 2012 trip filled with surprises!

Hello all! Day 1 started off great. We left the Hampton Inn and headed to the Walmart to get a few things, water, Pepsi, ect... and then headed to the resort. Took a round about way into the Magic Kingdom and pulled into the Polynesian Resort without Tom & Del even realizing it. Scrappy finished the poem she had written just as we were turning into the Poly. Tom & Del just sat there speachless until I told the Guard at the gate that we were checking in! Thats when the rest of the water works and the screaming started!

We pulled up to the valet, bellman took our luggage and CM Lynn escorted us in to check-in. We all got the traditional leis, but then they brought out real Leis that are fresh and hand made for Tom & Dell for their anniversary.

We were checked in in about 2 minutes and our rooms were ready. 2 Castle view rooms in the Tuvalu building , 3rd floor . The web cam is up and running. Catch the fireworks tonight. Link in below.

Had an awesome first day. Got into our rooms and unpacked. We got to the rooms and let Tom & Del open their door first so they could see the view. Of course they loved it!

Scrappy had packed some gifts for them that she gave them which included handmade Mouse Keeping envelopes and a spreadsheet for the entire trip with everything we would be doing, (but the big surprises not listed), and the dinning reservations.

Just before we headed to the Magic Kingdom we were talking in the rooms & someone knocked on Toms & Dels door. It was a cast member from the hotel with gifts. Balloons, a signed & framed picture of Mickey & Minnie in front of the Great Movie ride & a custom leather bound photo album so they can remember the trip. Very nice! Thank you Jess.

Hi all. Having a wonderful time here. Weather is absolutely fabulous. Today is a relax day,so I'm hoping to get caught up on this report.

Didn't catch up much. Had lunch with an Imagineer on Monday. Name was David Hardiman, he is a design administrator. He worked on the "Star Wars" attraction. Didn't really give any secrets, just discussed his job and what he does and did. He basically tells other people what to do in the design departments working on scenery. He was a pretty cool guy. Had lunch with him at the Brown Derby.

Finish up in HS and went back to the resort for a bit. Ended up going to DTD and having dinner at the EoS. Did some shopping to finish the night off and back to the Poly we went. Thanks for the great weather Lizzy!

Well we are scheduled to leave tomorrow, but we are sitting in Celebration Hospital ER. Del had an attack of some sort & could not breath. Always exciting in Disney.
