Thanks everyone... We are on the magic express and on our way home to Animal Kingdom Lodge

We got up and got to meet Mr hub and scrappy this morning so that way fun. Now we are waiting for the doctor to get here to figure out what's going on with Brooklin

Well hopefully tomorrow ill be able to start working on my trip report. It will just depend on how I'm feeling.... All this sickness that has hit our family is really no fun. Plus my trip report isn't going to be nearly as exciting as Mase and mr hubs videos

Alright well I hate writing my trip reports after the fact because I feel like I forget important stuff that I want to tell you guys but I'm never able to write them when we are actually there. And I know this won't be as good as the videos so please bear with me but there will be pictures, not tons because after going every year for 4 years you get tired of taking pics of the same thing...LOL...Anyways....on to Day 1

Day 1....We got up at O dark thirty to get to the airport. Our plane left at 7:45 and arrived in Orlando around 10. This is the earliest we have ever left before and I will say that I liked leaving this early. I didn't necessarily like getting up at 5 am but I loved how it put us down their earlier and since we were down there earlier there was no line for the magical express. Now the bad realization that I made and you will hear this more as the report goes on...I think all trips from last year on out are going to be jinxed. If you remember last year we got to the airport and found out we needed an airplane ticket for brooklin when we didn't have one, they lost one of my bags, and my mother in law got sick. Well this years trip started out with my mom sleeping through her alarm and getting to the airport just as we were boarding the plane....so that was causing me to freak out. This is my mom's first trip with us and she's had a hard past couple of years with her and my dad getting divorced and she worked really hard to get to go on this trip so I was going to be so disappointed if she didn't make it.

So after all the excitement of the airport it was nice to get to Orlando and be able to get right on the magical express and to our hotel with no hassle.We got to swing by Art of Animation first so that was nice to see.

Once we got to our hotel we checked in and found out that we did not get a savanna view which was kind of disappointing because I wanted my mom to be able to experience that but that's one of the downfalls of getting a two bedroom at animal kingdom...you very rarely get a savanna view. So anyways...here's some photos of the tree at AKL and the lobby if you've never seen it

We decided to head to DTD for the afternoon to get some lunch, do some browsing, meet up with my cousin who lives in the area and go to Disney Quest. We had lunch at Wolf Gang Pucks and it was good as always. I got the Spicy Chicken Pizza and Mase got the BBQ chicken pizza and both we're good but if I had to choose one to get again it would be the BBQ Chicken. We browsed around some stores before meeting up with my cousin and then we walked over to Disney Quest. I had never been to Disney Quest before and it had been awhile since Mase had been there. We decided to do it because we figured our son would like it, we both like virtual reality things, and it was included in our tickets since we got the special DVC annual passes. We we're there for several hours and I just wasn't that impressed with it. I felt like alot of it needed to be updated and it just didn't feel like Disney to me...I felt like it was just like any arcade you could go to here at home. So even though it is included in our passes I have no desire to go back again.

After Disney Quest we decided to go back to the hotel and get supper at The Mara which is the quick service location at the AKL. I really do not like this restaurant but got the salad and sucked it up. After supper we walked my mom around and showed her the resort and went and looked at the animals with the night vision goggles. Here's a picture of the Flamingo's

Before we went to look at the animals my mom wanted to stop in the Victoria Falls Lounge and get a drink. This is where our first shady experience with Disney happened. She ordered a margarita. They put it in an glass. They told her it was 10 dollars and she paid for it. Well she asked if she was allowed to walk around with it. They said she could just as long as she didn't go around the pool with the glass. I said well we were going to go look at the animals which would mean we would have to walk past the pool so I'm assuming that counts as being by the pool. He said yeah. I said well do you have plastic glasses. He was like yeah. He took the drink he had already made her, poured it from the glass into the plastic cup and then told her it would be 10 dollars again. She was in such shock she paid it and we walked away. I was like "did you just pay for the same drink twice" She was like yeah, but i'm not sure why. Here's the shady part...A couple days later she went back there and got the same drink and the bartender, who was a different guy, told her it would be 6 dollars...She was like wait, I got that same drink the other day and it was 10 dollars and then the guy charged me to switch it over to a plastic glass. He was like this drink is always 6 dollars and you shouldn't be charged to switch it over to another glass. So needless to say that bartender pocketed that extra 14 dollars that she was charged i'm sure.

So then we finally get back to the room and get settled in for the night and I take off Brooklin's pants and voila...this is what I found

So the back story on this for those who don't know....Earlier in the week Brooklin had been complaining about her left leg hurting on and off but was still walking on it fine and acting fine otherwise. Well the friday after Thanksgiving, the friday before we left, when she woke up she couldn't walk on it. So I took her to the Urgent Care..they did xrays and checked her blood and urine for infections but could find nothing wrong. Said maybe it was just growing pains since she didn't have any other symptoms with it. On Saturday she still babied it at times but didn't act as bad on it as she did on friday. On Saturday night before putting her to bed I noticed one little spot on her leg about the size of a pimple and when she woke up on sunday it was still the same size. So I was a little freaked out when I took her pants off and saw that. I went and bought some hydrocortisone cream to put on it and we were going to see what it looked like the next morning....and that's where I will leave you in suspense until the next installment. I know it's not all that exciting and it was more drama then Disney but I promise you it will get better. The plus side to me for the day was that I finished the pin set I had started collecting when we got there on the first day so that was awesome.

Ok so onto Day 2....

When we woke up in the morning the rash was still there so we made the executive decision to call on of the doctors who will come on site and have them check it out. Mr. Hub and scrappy were also visiting AKL to see the christmas decorations so we ran downstairs to meet them and say hello. After we called the doctor we waited close to two hours for him to get there even though they said it would take less then an hour. He looked at it, said it was a herpetic dermatitis caused by the herpes virus and called in some Acyclovir which they delivered to the hotel. Bad part about this story is that when i had her at her doctor when we got back she said that was infact not what it was and that the medicine they had me give her would of done nothing for the rash that it just heals on it's own....Well that was a wasted 300 dollars but hopefully insurance will reimburse it when I send them my paperwork.

So after we were all done with that we headed to Epcot. We did all our usual rides: Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Nemo. and Journey into Imagination. I was getting worried at first because Brooklin criend the whole way through Spaceship Earth so I was afraid she would cry on every dark ride...But after that one she was fine. For dinner we went to Whispering Canyon Cafe and while the food was good like normal I was disappointed that I couldn't pick what I wanted. Last year I didn't do the milk shakes and this year I did and I'm so glad I did because I had a carmel apple one and it was so good. After dinner we headed to Magic Kingdom for EMH's and I'm tired right now so I will finish writing about that tomorroe. Here's so pictures to leave you with. Side note....Brooke got so excited when we saw Belle outside of Journey into Imagination. She ran up to her and was like " See my rash" I'm sure she probably made Belle want to roll around in hand sanitizer but she played it off really well...She was like "Were you playing in the garden? One day when chip was out playing in the garden he got a rash to". I really love the Disney face characters and how well they stay in character.
