Just 16 Days To Go!!!!

Hey all - I'm a long time lurker, but I just can't keep it in anymore!!
16 days until we have our 10 day trip to POFQ!!!!

yay

We were originally booked for the end of Jan, but my husband works in TV and they changed the show schedule around so this was the only time we could go with out him missing two shows (and a lot of money).
Happy part of that - I get to spend my birthday at WDW!!!! Granted, it's the last day, so it's kinda like yay for you, now leave Smile but still very exciting....
Really sucky part of moving the trip.... I *had* reservations for Be Our Guest, and was SOOOOO excited... and then had to cancel it for the moved dates. I'm still trying to get in, and I'm still very excited to go to WDW, but man, that sucked having to cancel that. I just hope I made someone elses vacation that much better by having them go instead of us.

I'm very excited to be going down in cooler weather - We have only have been in the summer so far, and I don't do well in the heat, so I'm thinking that I'll enjoy it even more when I'm not all sweaty and complaining.

But have the ADRs all set, ordered from Garden Grocer for the first time, have my touring plans (mostly all done), set up car service to and from the airport, now just waiting for the info packet to arrive with our ME tags and goodies! After all the waiting (we have been counting down for over a year and a half now!!) I can't believe it's almost here!
Even just got a tiny little coffee maker for the room - we are serious caffeine addicts and the Nescafe wasn't working for us, and the in-room machines never seem to work well with the little pods they give you (and they never give enough for us), so we just broke down and brought a little one to bring so we won't be all cranky in the mornings. This means we can also eat breakfast in the rooms and save our snack credits for important things, like Dole Whips and beignets.

Now I'm waiting anxiously for my hubby's ankle to heal - he slipped off the back of the stage last weekend, and sprained his ankle with some bone bruises. Nothing broken and it's not too bad, so he should be fine for the trip... crossfingers

Sorry for the longish post, but I am doing a serious happy dance - even all the evil spreadsheets at work can't keep me down now!!!!!

Thanks everyone! Bouncing in my chair every time I think about it!

The ankle is doing much better even this morning, so it should be all good to go by the time we leave!

We're planning on a nice relaxing trip - I'm sure we can do enough in 10 days! So happy to be back at POFQ - we did Coronado last time and just didn't like it. The little hot tub in the grotto is calling my name... muchlove

Here's our ADR list - got most of what we wanted, except for BOG (sigh!) and a bunch of new places:
Biergarden
50s Prime Time (1st time)
Kona Cafe
Via Napoli (1st time)
Raglan Road
Kouzzina
Cape May (1st time)
Rose and Crown (1st time)
Whispering Canyon

And also hope to cross a few things off my bucket list - New Fantasyland, going to see the Spectacle of Lights, getting a Grey Goose Slushie, the Nutella Waffle Sandwich thing in MK, finally trying Tonga Toast, Riding ToT and EE at night... and I SO can't wait for the pork shank at Gastons! (Yes, it's really all about the food for us!)

I've been following along a lot of other people's trips and have been sooo jealous - but now it's my turn!!! Luckily the days will go fast with (many many loooong hours) at work, then the holidays so these last 2 weeks will be SO short!!!!

Sorry to hear about your BOG reservation, but it sounds like you have more then enough good food planned to make up for it! DH and I did 50s Prime Time and Waffle Sandwhiches for our first time this last trip too and loved both of them! Hope your hubby's foot is 100% better and that your trip goes off without a hitch!

Clairenmn I went on the Disney website to check BOG. It said dinner reservations are required but it didn't say that you would need reservations for lunch since it is quick service. It wouldn't hurt to check with Disney regarding lunch at BOG.

Thanks Pirate Girl - I knew about the lunch option... But I had this whole plan to get go on our first night, stroll around New Fantasyland, enjoy a nice dinner and relax our first day. I also spent untold hours on the phone just trying to GET said reservation with the debacle that was on the day they released ADRs... Sigh...

But all in all, we thought we'd have to cancel the trip between the schedule being changed and me having to take an unplanned hurri-cation (Hurricane-vacation - as a contract employee, I don't get paid for days I don't work, and my office has a stunning view of the NY Harbor... which was great when Sandy came and flooded it)...

So all in all, I'm just happy to be going at all!!

Only 8 days of work left!!!
