Know before you go! TSA and those coolio Galaxy's Edge Coke Bottles

Oiy. Even if emptied.....

TSA bans Star Wars Galaxy's Edge 'thermal detonator' Coke bottles

- TSA will not permit the stylized Coke bottles from Galaxy's Edge on flights.

- The souvenir has been banned because its looks like a replica explosive.

Just the other night I was looking at this link. The next day I started seeing posts about these not being allowed.

Hmmm seems like I remember someone saying that they look like an M67 grenade...

I do know that people have been traveling fairly consistently with these from Disneyland all summer. From the tweet below I think that the catch here is "If our officers discover a replica item during screening and believe its real." So it seems that the officers have leeway in deciding what is a real threat and what is not. On one hand you would think that Orlando TSA officers would become familiar with the soda bottles and they would be accepted. On the other hand, they could become such a nuisance when it comes to additional screening that they will just be banned every time.

These just don't look real or replica to be at all, and I just roll my eyes over the whole thing. sarcastic

According to AllEars.Net the TSA has finished reviewing the case of the coke bottles and have deemed them worthy to fly.

People were putting the bottle in one bag and the cap in another bag to fly.
