Kywildcatchick Sept Family Vacation PreTrip/Trip Report

Today marks 27 days until we are at Disney and I am beyond excited!!! This is my first PreTrip report so here goes!!

First for those that don't know me very well, I am a 45 years old and work in education sales. I absolutely love everything Disney mainly because it makes me happy!! I love the music and magic. I take a lot of grief from some of my extended family over it but one day they will wish they had the magic too!!

I will be traveling with my husband of 7 years, Dan, and my two sons Kenton, 15 and Karson,12 ( My daughter will have to miss this one due to finishing up cosmetology school. First trip without her ). I have grown up with Disney trips as a child but Dan was not at all impressed with our first Disney trip. It was in May of 2010, and it was really crowded and hot. I was there on business and we tried to do all 4 parks in 2 days. BIG MISTAKE!! All of us were tired and grumpy but we did manage to find some magical moments. The kids had fun but Dan said NEVER AGAIN!

This May he surprised me with a grown ups only trip to WDW for my birthday! It was amazing and a huge success in winning him over. I had a really tough year personally and he knew this would make me so happy. It was great for both of us. He had booked POFQ with the Dining plan during the Spring Garden Festival! I was a time of renewal for us and we both had a fabulous time. Now he had felt the Magic!!

Low and behold, free dining was announced for September and we had been planning a family trip somewhere so he suggested Disney . With both of us in new jobs, neither of us had vacation time until September so I am being the bad parent and pulling my kids out of school for a week. Luckily they have a program in our district that allows for out of school education experiences so their absences are excused.

Our trip plans are to leave on Friday the 13th and travel part way. We will stop somewhere in south Georgia. On Saturday, we are making a quick overnight stop in Clearwater to see Winter the Dolphin. It is a family favorite movie and we want to go see her!! It will be a fun night and let me get my ocean fix too. I hate being land locked in KY so I try to get to the beach on a regular basis.

Sunday we head to Disney!!!

We are staying at All Star Movies. This will be our first value hotel stay but I have heard good things and with the kids I don't think we will be spending much time at the resort. We purchased the park hoppers with water parks and more option.

We are doing the quick service so the only ADRs I have are:

Tuesday Afternoon: GF Tea room

Wednesday: Le Cellier (for our anniversary)

About 3 weeks after we made our reservations, we were able to convince my husbands parents to go with us!! I love them dearly and neither of them have ever been to Disney World. My Father in Law has been to Disneyland as a young man but that was back when he was in the Navy and my Mother in Law has never been. I love them both dearly and am so glad I will get to experience with them. I am taking Jeanie (MIL) to tea on Tuesday afternoon while the boys go do some waterslides or ESPN. I can't wait to have some girl time with her.

We actually bought them some Mickey shirts from the Disney store for their birthdays to wear on the trip!! We are all counting the days!

I can't believe we are less than 48 hours from leaving!!! It seems like we have been waiting for sooo long

I have my Disney itinerary book all ready to go ( Pics later tonight) and tonight we will finish packing. Had the van detailed today to get ready for the trip. I know it will look like a tornado went off as soon as the kids are in it. Even the hubby is super excited and my MIL is calling me 2 or 3 times a day she is soo excited. I really am glad to be able to experience Dan's parents first trip to Disney. The are both retired career military and made so many sacrifices for us that it makes me cry to think about sharing this special time with them. I can't wait to share with all of you their experiences too Get ready for lots of pictures!

Have a wonderful trip. My husband and I have been Annual Passholders for a few years, but we still get excited every single time we go to Disney World. It really is magical for us!!!
