Layovers

We were talking in the preferred airline thread about our preferences and I was wondering:

How hard do you guys try to avoid a layover? I personally will pay quite a bit more to avoid a layover. I figure time is money and sitting in an airport is pretty miserable. Plus the layover increases the chance of a delay dramatically, so I figure it's worth paying more for a direct flight. What do you guys think?

I guess when you come right down to it Non Stop is the only way that I will go. I am fortunate enough to live near two large airports that have plenty of non-stop flights to Orlando so layovers do not come into play for us.

ITA, Brad. We only have 2 airlines here that fly non-stop to MCO, each with once daily flights that are non-stop. I plan my travel around those flights & would pay extra for them if I needed to. I have had too many screwed up connections & too many lost bags to fly any other way if I can help it.

Having lived in NYC for 5 years, I got very used to non-stop flights anywhere I wanted to go. Moving to the Southwest has been a wake-up call! And I'm finding that I'll pay extra for that luxurious non-stop flight.

Well to me I ALWAYS want to get to WDW as early as possible on the first day, so there's no way I'm spending 8 hours flying. I usually take the earliest non-stop available.
