LOST

Granted, the only real Disney connection is that it's on ABC, but who else is addicted/obsessed with Lost? I'm so lookiing forward to the finale tomorrow, but hate that we have to wait so long for the last season!

Any big theories, guesses, thoughts?

I WISH I could run with you on this, but I think I'm one of the only people in the nation who's seen only one or two episodes!!

I know. I'm a loser.

I loved the show when it first came on. Watched every episode religiously.

I finally came to the opinion that they had a giant board with story lines on it and the writers would throw darts at it (while blindfolded) to come up with this week's plot and throw in a couple of new characters that no one had ever seen before to boot.

I've Tivo'ed all the episodes from the last couple of seasons and burned them to DVD, but alas they are sitting in a stack that we keep claiming we'll "watch one of these days".

Maybe.... maybe not....

MouseTraveler - it's understandable why at first in the earlier seasons you could see that, but the last couple of seasons have really held up the producers' claims that the show was plotted from the beginning. There's no WAY they could have put this thing together the way they have piece by piece along the way. Gaps are starting to be filled in, and it's VERY clear now that they've known what they're doing since season one.

Someone told me that when they started this show they had 6 episodes that had to be made to tell the core story and then the rest they just kind of fit in there.

I think in some way that may be true, but it seems pretty clear that as of about two years ago they've known very clearly where they were going with this. When the producers negotiated with ABC to have a clear end date, I think they were able to then outline the last three seasons to finish where they want to finish.

I think they should create a Lost attraction at WDW. That could be fun.

Black smoke swirling around a crashing plane? The theming could be amazing!

They're pretty good at turning "fears" into rides--why not add falling out of the sky to that line up! Smile

Or maybe one where you have to return to the attraction every 108 minutes to push a button. That would be fun Smile

I'm glad someone else on here watches! So much good stuff last night, we can spend the next seven months trying to pick it apart!

SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN"T SEEN IT YET!!!

Do we think Juliet is dead? I'm not so sure -- if she dies, doesn't everyone else on the island?

SPOILERS AHEAD!

I hope she's not dead. She is my favorite character. If she's dead, I hope everyone else is too--especially Kate and Jack.

Which I'm pretty sure they would all be if that bomb went off there at the end. I thought they were all completely cuckoo to want to set it off in the first place. Are they forgetting that not everyone's lives were happy before the plane crash? You know, Locke was paralyzed, Rose had cancer, Kate was being hauled off to prison for murder, Sun and Jin's marriage was on the rocks.

So if they do go back in time and the plane lands at LAX, does that mean Juliet is going to be Ben's prisoner in Otherville for the rest of her life, and poor Desmond will be stuck down in the hatch forever, never to reunite with Penny??? I can't believe we have to wait until 2010 to find out what happens!! ARGH!

We all probably jumped back in time, and one person did something that changed the timeline, thus erasing your message. Sorry about that. Darn pesky time travel. laugh

I don't know - I can't understand how Juliet could be dead but the others survive - unless Jacob's touch somehow protects them. OH! I just thought of something! What if that's it - Jacob's touch keeps these people alive -- why Jack couldn't die, how Jin survived the explosion, why Sayid would survive so long getting shot in the gut etc. The chink in this, of course, is Miles. I can't see how Juliet could surivive and NOT Miles, unless they didn't show us all the "touchings." For example, did Jacob touch Michael at some point? Remember, Christian appeared to him right before he died and said it was time to let go....

That's as good a theory as any. But for that matter, we don't know that Jacob didn't touch Juliet--just because we didn't see him in her flashback from this episode, doesn't mean he didn't encounter her at some point. Maybe TPTB chose not to show it because they want us to believe that she's a goner and then they'll pull a "ta-da! She's not really dead!" later on?

Oh wait--hole in your theory: Locke's dead. Jacob touched Locke. Obviously people he's touched can die. Plus, Jacob wasn't looking too healthy at the end of this episode, either, now that I think about it.

I can never figure out what's going on on this show. I just go along for the ride.
