Magic Kingdom Entrance Test

They did this to us in January for one entrance, I think it was DHS, but it could have been AK. Kind of freaked us out a little bit. It was different, we weren't quite sure how to act!!

Kind of hard to imagene the park without turnstyles. You could probaly associate them with the park as much as anything else.

YES! It's all part of the process of getting into the park. When it changes you kind of have to rethink the process. It was much quicker though.

They did that with us in November at DHS...but it kind of took a while because the older CM working it didn't quite get it right

That's so cool! What are they doing with the whole fingerprint-scanner thing now that used to be at the turnstiles? Will they scan your fingerprint some other sort of way, or will they just do away with that all together?

Most if not all of the turnstiles are gone from MK. We were there last night and it was chaotic, someone was yelling "paper passes to the left, cards to the right, but there was a lot of confusion. We have paper annual passes so we went to the left, and with no turnstiles it was more like a mob with one cm scanning passes with a hand scanner one at a time. Then he told us that starting March 20 we can go to the Odyssey building in EPCOT and get our new hard-card passes. Still have the turnstiles with the fingerprint scanner at EPCOT for now. I'm sure the process will improve, as it is in full transition right now. There is a lot of construction at the turnstile area at AK also.

We were there the end of Feb. first of March. and there were several days at different parks, can't remember which ones, I think one day at Epcot, where they were using the hand held devices to swipe the cards instead of using the new scanner posts. But also I think they used it one time when we had trouble getting the magic band post to recognize our card. My take on the hand held swiper is that it is a backup.

Huh...I hope they can get some of those kinks worked out before the Mob of Summer comes! For the Mob's sake, and for the CMs' sakes, too!! This is such an interesting process to watch emerge. Thanks to those of you who have been recently for all of the updates! Keep 'em coming, please!

I saw on My Disney Experience on last night that I had a button now for Fastpass+ on my IPad, but nothing happens yet when I click on it. It's not on My Disney Experience when I go on the PC. I was hoping we were getting a chance to use it for our Oct trip because it only comes up for that reservation and not the one for July. Any body else get it yet?

I've had the same thing on my android tablet for the past month, but it seems to just be a "placeholder". I guess they are getting ready for the launch of fastpass+, but it's not functional yet. Our trip is in May, so I don't understand why it wouldn't appear for your July trip.
