We are only a few days away from being able to make Fast Pass selections....so I imagine I will have some tweaking to the pre-trip report..but it's time to get this party started! **FAST PASSES ADDED**
We are booked at POR French Quarters from Jan. 23rd until Jan. 30th and have a 6 day Park Pass. At this time I'm still debating on adding the Hopper option as I'm not sure we will get enough use out of it for the cost. We tend to stay in the park we are at for the entire day and park hours are shorter during this time period anyway....so I'm still contemplating. This is the first time we are staying on a hotel only discount so all food is out of pocket (vs. previous "free" dining).
This will be our 3rd trip to WDW as a couple and our 2nd time at PORFQ
Friday, Jan. 23rd- Fly from South Bend, Indiana to Orlando/Sanford Airport. Roughly a 2.5 hr flight. Arrive at 1202pm. Get picked up by one of my BFF's who will drive us to PORFQ to see if we can check in. BFF may or may not be able to spend the afternoon with us, depending on her work commitments at that time. After dropping off our luggage, we will hop the boat to Downtown Disney! A QS dinner will be at Wolfgang Puck as requested by my bride. I hope to make a Mr. Potato Head at the toy store. If we have the energy, I'm anticipating a much raved about on here, Chocolate Martini at Scat Cat's Club.
Saturday, Jan. 24th- Off to AK who is open till 7pm this night. We love AK and can easily stay there the entire day. A Dole Whip with Rum from Tamu Tamu is on my list of must try's. Hoping to see DeVine as I keep missing her. After closing we are off to The Poly. We will check out the new design of the Poly, grab another must try, Lapu Lapu & some appetizers and head to the water to see the Electrical Parade at 9pm (which we have also never seen). If for some reason the beach is closed-its probably going to be a ferry boat ride to Wilderness Lodge to watch it from there. Alternate Plan here is booking the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage.
Expedition Everest 10:55a-11:55a*Kilimanjaro Safaris 12:45p-1:45p*Festival Lion King 2:30p-2:50p
Sunday, Jan. 25th- HS is open till 10pm this night (and thus, not recommended by Touring Plans) but I'm feeling optimistic that with the recent closings & rumored construction-it isn't going to be very crowded. Here I must ride that dreaded Tower of Terror that DW loves. This is currently our only reservation for table service @ Sci Fi Drive In (another request of DW) at 12:45p.
Tower of Terror 10:05a-11:05a*Toy Story 2:05p-3:05p*Frozen Sing Along 3:25p-3:40p
Monday, Jan. 26th- MK Day! Open until 8pm this is also not recommended by Touring Plans-because I guess, Mondays are typically busier for guests just coming to WDW, but again, we throw caution to the wind and are going anyway! We start out early for the Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour at 8am with MrHub, Scrappy, KenJ and JanJ then we hope to grab some delicious snacks (Nutella Waffle? Gaston's Cinnamon Roll? ALL OF IT?).
7 Dwarfs Mine 3:40p-4:40p*Peter Pan 4:55p-5:55p*Meet Anna & Elsa 6:00p-7:00p
Tuesday, Jan. 27th- AK for round 2 (this is subject to change) it depends if we do the Wild Africa Trek, another DW request as she loved it so much last time. If we can leave before 4p we will be heading to AKL for the free 4pm Culinary Tour of Boma & Jiko. Depending on how we like the food choices, dinner may be in Jiko's Cape Town Lounge & Wine Bar.
Kilimanjaro Safari 9:50a-10:50a*Expedition Everest 1:00p-2:00p*Nemo Musical 2:30p-2:50p
Wednesday, Jan. 28th- Hoping to make it to Wilderness Lodge before 9am for the free Art & Architecture Tour. DW really loves Wilderness Lodge so if I am to convince her of DVD resale options some day, this might be the perfect place to spend extra time in! Then off to MK. We might break for a late lunch back to Wilderness lodge and an hour bicycle rental thru the grounds. Then back to MK as they close at 8pm.
Thunder Railroad 11:20a-12:20p*Haunted Mansion 2:20p-3:20p*7 Dwarfs Mine 5:15p-6:15p
Thursday, Jan. 29th- If we can make the Boardwalk by 9am I would like to take the free Ballyhoo Guided Tour. Then its off to Epcot for the day. DW seems to get a bit bored in Epcot (where I can gaze at the countries detailing for hours) so i hope to mix it up with the Behind the Seeds Tour. School Bread is on my must do list here. Perhaps Mickey's Kitchen Sink back over at Beaches & Cream? And now that we are Visa Card Holders we must hit the free photo meet-n-greet session at Innoventions West between 1-7pm. Epcot closes at 9pm.
No Fast Passes Schedule at this time
Friday, Jan. 30th- is going to hurt in two ways. First, we fly home and leave WDW Two, we have to leave PORFQ at 3:30am to get to the airport as our plane leaves at 6:20am. While my BFF offered to pick us back up and take us, I couldn't ask her to get us at that crazy time, so we will have to rent transportation. While on the phone with Disney, they said they do organize transportation with Mears but I haven't looked into it to price it or see what any benefits might be.
So there we have it, the first step, now to see how many of the Fast Passes I can get to line up with it!
