MCO Airport Security line

Has ANYONE gotten through the security line at MCO quickly? It always seems to be a huge traffic jam. I don't understand why they don't just create multiple security areas. Sorry for the rant! laugh

MCO is pretty bad and it looks even worse. It always looks like it's going to be TERRIBLE and it's still pretty bad.

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I never seem to have issues at MCO. It's a breath of fresh air compared to LAX so, maybe that's why I think it's good!

Not usually big queues at Sanford and it's only 40 mins away from WDW.

Hey Donald, welcome to the boards! I think you're right that a great way to appreciate other airports is to fly out of LAX regularly. As much of a hassle as DFW is, I find it compares favorably to most of the other large airports I've flown in and out of.

Tony I agree with your statement about Sanford, but the only drawback is that Magical Express does not service Sanford and I find that not too many airlines use Sanford. Of course that helps with the lack of crowding.

True about Sanford, but there are a few smaller regional airlines that do use it, making it a real boon for those folks (and of course, there are the international flights as well.) Besides...it's a cute little town Smile

I don't think MCO is all that bad. I'm usually flying in/out on business and haven't had too much hassle. Probably it's worse at certain times of day. Early morning is never bad. It certainly compares favorably to the other biggies I fly in/out of, like ATL (which I like other than security) and IAD. My least fave so far has been IAH.

Space Ace, do you think it's just all the folks coming from all over, many of whom don't fly on a regular basis? Orlando's just such a huge tourist destination.

Wow. This post is just FULL of obvious statements.

This is fun! What other airports do we love/hate? (And welcome, DD!)

I hate London Gatwick (UK) but only because it takes me about two hours to get to it when there are four others within an hours drive, and I have to drive past at least two other airports on the way LGW.

In the US sometimes you can get a really cheap flight from those closer airports to the big hub. This was more common in the dot-com days but I think some people still do it. They go to the small airport and then take a cheap flight from the small one to the big one. Is that an option?

thanks Lizzy!

MCO really isn't that bad it just always look really long...since it is our "home" airport we use it a lot and even around Thanksgiving and Christmas it has never been longer than 15 minutes!

When I flew home last year, I thought it would take forever based on the crowd when I got in line. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Funny, I've never noticed he line lengths at the airport. I'm not sure if it's because I got through quickly, or because I'm so happy to be almost at Disney!

I usually add "priority line" to my tickets, so when I'm at O'Hare I fly through. MCO doesn't have one though and it always seems to take forever, especially on a Sunday afternoon! I've vowed never to fly home then again.
