Miss Mikki - July/August Trip Report

We are back from the world! It was a really great holiday that exceeded all our expectations.
I actually love Disney in the high summer.

- All the parks are open longer, giving more choice and flexibility
- All the seasonal attractions are open
- I love the tropical climate "the heat never bothered me anyway "
- Generally the crowds felt similar to when we visited in November
- We had no problem doing walk-ins or last minute reservations for shows and dining
- We were in the parks every day for twelve days and did not see a single tour group - not sure why people think it is a problem?
- We would definately go back in July/August again. (I also like going in the fall for F&W festival and December for Xmas decorations though)

Typhoon lagoon and blizzard beach (they close for three months each in the off season)
Fireworks and parades are every day rather than a couple of times a week
Small shows and entertainers are more frequent
Restaurants eg. Tortuga tavern and a lot of kiosks are only open in the summer

Glad you had a magic time...We have been 5 times,all in July, loved it..However, you never seen one tour group in 12 days.. That's gotta be a bit of magic...

Glad you had a good trip. We're booked for August next year and I do have a few concerns about going in the summer but it was either August or not at all so summer it is! Looking forward to the trip report and any tips you have for summer visits.

Yes it must have been magic to not see any tour groups during your stay! We have seen them in January and they can be a little crazy, but just steer clear of them and you'll be fine. And don't stay in Mansion building 80 at POR, as that is where they stay. We found that out the hard way.
