Mrhub's Parasailing Adventure!

Well here are some video's and pictures This was one of the most exciting things I have ever done at WDW! The two guys from Sammy Duval's, Dave & Mike were awesome, talked you right through what to do and it's easy. It was only me and a 17 yo kid going up and they asked who wanted to go first and I jumped at it. The video is about 13:37 minutes long, but it shows start to finish with about 8 to 10 minutes cut out, they gave us some extra hang time. It includes some of the pictures from the photo package, some video & pictures I took while up in the air and some Scrappy got from on the boat.

I took the Deluxe Package which puts you up 600' instead of 400'. Once up there you get a little adrenaline rush, especially when they send you up to the 600' mark, thats like the floor falling out from under you! Oh and the reason there are so many pictures of the knot and rope are because of the way the camera was hanging around my neck and the vest I had on. Need to work some better camera skills next time, and there will be a next time! Maybe me and Ken in January!

yay yay That looks awesome! I've always wanted to do it but I am terrified going up... I scream and cry like a baby on roller coaster lift hills but I love it when you get to the top and going down. Maybe one day!!!

Awesome!! 600' sounds crazy, but I bet you could see so much from up there! I went parasailing over Grand Traverse Bay at 350' I think, and while it was absolutely breath taking, the wind shifts scared me so much I was clinging to the rope for dear life! laugh I can't even imagine 600' over a smaller body of water; you rock, MrHub! awesome

DH, the ILs, and I did this for the first time in November when we were in Fort Meyers and it was such a fun experience! We did the 600' as well and they dipped us in the water a couple of times too, though I probably wouldn't recommend that in Bay Lake eek

I've heard of a lot of people getting hurt doing that too. Thats why I like that they DO NOT do it at Bay Lake, let alone the parasites.

MrHub, I was wondering if you can describe what it's like while up there.

I mean, do you actually fly the thing around or have any control over it? Or does the boat do everything? I've never parachuted or anything like that before, but I've flown kites and it looks to me like it's a big kite with a human being at the end of the string! laugh

Exactly, you just go with the flow and hang on, well, you don't really have to hang on, but I grabbed on a few times. When they sent me up to 600" from 400", it felt like ToT ten fold!

Ha! They don't let you free fall drop or anything, they just slowly lower you as they would if they were pulling you in and let your feet skim the water. I'm terrified of the ocean and fish and I really did not like the idea of this at all but it was so brief and you barely went in the water at all.

LOL. I had this image in my mind of people 600 feet up dropping down, bouncing off the water and then back up to 600 feet with seaweed and fish hanging from their feet! Tower of Terror x1000. eek
