Ms. Versaci's Pretrip Report

biggrin

I am so excited! My trip is TOMORROW!

Few things....
I will be traveling with my amazing boyfriend, Preston. It is my 6th visit, while this is Preston's first visit AND it's his birthday!

My little sister is a CM and so she got us some amazing deals on our room and dining plan.

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in a Royal Guest River View room. I was NOT kidding when I say my sister got us a fabulous deal on this room. We were torn between POR and the Polynesian. I have never stayed in a Deluxe Resort, even with the meal plan, our room came in under a grand, which is not what I can say about the Poly. I've stayed at POR 3 times in the past and enjoyed it immensely. I am really looking forward to staying there a) in a romantic capacity and b) in the newish Royal Guest room!

Alright, here is a rough outline of our time.

Wed 8/8 Arrive in Orlando at 10 AM, take Magical Express to POR. Little sis (Cheyenne) is meeting us there for check in. We have ADRs for lunch at the Whispering Canyon Cafe over at Wilderness Lodge, then its off to Magic Kingdom for the afternoon! After spending the afternoon at MK, we plan to hop on over to DHS for evening rides, dinner at Fairfax (we both want that mac and cheese hot dog!) and to take in Fantasmic!.

Thurs 8/9 ADR breakfast at Kona Cafe for Tonga Toast. Then to Islands of Adventure, or, more specficially, Harry Potter World. I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and cannot WAIT to see this place. I've never been and I am super excited. After a day at IOA and WWOHP, we are meeting some of my family for dinner at Beaches and Cream, a long time favorite, and then spending an evening wandering Downtown Disney.

Friday 8/10 Most of the day is spent hopping between EPCOT and DHS, and then we have ADRs at Ohana during Wishes! Then its off to late night EMH at MK! Laughing out loud

Saturday 8/11 EPCOT DAY. ADR Lunch at Le Cellier. And then commence Drinking Around The World, with a stop for ADR dinner at Beirgarten in Germany. Finish like champs during Illuminations.

Sunday 8/12 Last Day. ADR for breakfast at Boma. I've always wanted to stay at AKL, so this is really nice for me. We'll walk over to AK for the morning and hit the few little things I like to do, like EE, KS, and Dinosaur. We'll spend the afternoon at EPCOT, with ADR at Les Chefs de France. Then chill for a bit before the homestretch of EMH at MK.

Monday 8/13 Back to real life with an early morning flight.

I am getting to do a lolt of things I've never done in Disney before. All of ADRs with the exception of Biergarten and Le Cellier I have never eaten at, and both of those were when I was 13 and did not appreciate it. I am looking forward to being in a food coma most of this trip. (We both love to eat)

This trip was kind of last minute. We only booked it the first week of July, and I was shocked I was able to get ADRs for EVERY place I wanted. Especially during peak season.

All in all, my only regret is it can't be longer.
I know there is such thing as post vacation depression. Is there post-planning vacation depression? I'll be very down when the planning is over!
Best,
Kacie mickey

Woah that's awesome!! And happy birthday to Preston! Haha.
Lots of extra money to spend on ADRs (unless you've gorwn some sort of money tree, that might matter wink !) That's so cool! This sounds like an amazing trip for you! I wish I were going myself! biggrin

Looks like you have a lot of time at ADRs, but with so many days at the parks I'm sure you'll get a lot of what you want to do done! Only bad thing about park-hopping is the time it takes for transportation taking out of your park time, but it looks like you have plenty of days to do what you want to do! Nice itinerary!

Sounds great Kacie and don't forget that at Whispering Canyon Cafe in Wilderness Lodge for some strange reason they do not put ketchup bottles on the tables, so you have to ask for it. wink Sounds like you will have a great time.

I felt the same way about my wedding! I had no idea what to do with myself when all the planning was done! Sounds like it will be a great trip for you and your BF, though! Come back with lots of pictures!

Have a great trip! I too am a HUGE harry potter fan! I've been to WWOHP twice now. It's really cool I just wish it was bigger. It's pretty small and really crowded. Still, it's awesome! I LOVE honeydukes! awesome I wanted to try the butter beer but never got around to it. Let me know what its like if you have it! Smile The chocolate frogs are bigger and thicker than i expected too which was great since i live for chocolate wink
As for the post planning depression, i suffered from it too. I still from time to time go check out available ADR's even though i've booked mine and everything's ready to go. That may be because i've never done ADR's before though eek

Sounds like a great trip! If you're a big HP fan, you are going to love the WWoHP. I went last year and it was literally like walking straight into the books and movies. I was blown away! Have fun!!

Oh you are doing so many of my favorites! Love Beirgarten as we try to go every time, we also loved Whispering Canyon when we tried it this last trip.

In March we were able to go to HP and it was great! The Butter beer was really yummy.

Butterbeer is awesome, esp. the frozen one. Perfect on a hot day. I agree WWOHP is really crowded, can't wait for the expansion. If you haven't been check out Terminator2 3-D...my niece is a performer there.
