Mandy and her Parents Magical Vacation Trip Report-Updated

My parents are coming to visit me right before Thanksgiving. My mom asked my dad if he wanted to do Christmas or Halloween and he said Christmas. So Christmas it is! My dad also wants to stay at All-Star Sports. My mom has some ideas on where they want to eat. So we'll either do the Dining Plan or the Deluxe Dining Plan, most likely the Dining Plan. I'm so excited!!! clapping clapping clapping clapping clapping clapping clapping clapping clapping clapping clapping yay yay yay yay yay yay yay We'll most likely get Memory Maker as well. We are also going to MVMCP. I also have some friends in entertainment, so I'm hoping to set up something special for us during the party. I believe they are driving down as well. Have I mentioned how excited I am?

I haven't seen my parents since Sept of 2012! I am very excited! I want to try and get BOG. I've also been thinking about maybe trying to get the fireworks dessert party as well. This time I should be able to have the week off to spend it with them instead of working like last time. This will be there first time with magic bands and the new fastpass system.

Thank you Vettelover.

That's super news Mandy. You're going to have so much fun showing your parents "your" turf, and doing all your favourite things.

Thank you! They're both easy going and trust me completely with the planning. I just don't know how the DAS card will do. They're both disabled and have different ride tastes. My guest relations friend told me that each family typically gets one DAS card. I don't think I can book dining until the reservation is booked. I'm most excited for MVMCP.

Thank you everyone! I am starting to compile a list of restaurants to eat at. We may eat a couple of restaurants from the last time they were here but I also want to try some new ones. We will be doing the dining plan 1 qsr, 1 ts and 1 sn.

So here's a list of what I got so far.
MK- Be Our Guest, The Plaza, Tony's Town Square Restaurant and Crystal Plaza. I think we may have eaten at Liberty Tree last time.

Studios- Mama Melrose and '50s Prime Time Cafe.

EPCOT- San Angel Inn, Toyko Dining, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Via Napoli, and possibly Coral Reef.

DAK- Tusker House and Yak and Yeti.

I also may want to do some resort dining. I have in mind for those 1900 Park Fair, Cape May Cafe for breakfast, 'Ohana for breakfast and The Wave.

Both my parents and I like to characters, my mom loves Chip and Dale. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Chip & Dale appear at The Garden Grill upstairs from Living with the Land in EPCOT. We had dinner there in June last year and the interaction with the charactors was very good. It is all you care to eat and the food, which is quite tasty, is brought to the table so you don't risk missing visits while at a buffet. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed it. Other characters included Mickey Mouse and Pluto.

So excited for you! I wish my parents would go with us. ::sigh:: the Magic of a multi-generational trip.

We loved MVMCP last year! The crowds were horrendous and my youngest daughter got hit in the face with a camera eek but otherwise it was a fun experience. The cookies and hot chocolate weren't exactly what we expected though. More Keebler Elves and not enough of Grandma's-homemade-nostalgia if you know what I mean.

However!!! The characters were AH-mazing!!! Love that they were wearing Holiday costumes and all the Princes were there too! Flynn Rider was the best and my 10 year old was star struck. Of course I turned into a complete mute when Prince Charming was talking to me before the picture. In front of my husband. :Cool If you love character meet and greets I would map out which ones you want to see, get to the party early (you can enter at 4pm, I believe) and prioritize. We skipped a lot of the rides that night to meet some of the characters that aren't available very often.

Love all the dining plans! Makes me hungry just reading about it! Smile

I've been at the Garden Grill with Vettelover and his family. My motion sickness kick in after the meal. The food was good and the characters were great. I just didn't care for the rotation.
