Disney Food Blog has pictures of the New San Angel Seating. Seems to me that that just killed the one thing that was consistently appealing about San Angel. I'm pretty bummed about this one.

My first thought was "Wow, that almost looks family style to me" which would kill it for us. Like noted, I'd feel like I was eating at a cafeteria!
I liked the old arrangement a heck of a lot better.
I have always loved the backdrop, with the pyramid (is that what they're called?) and the volcanoes. I've never actually eaten in the restaurant! Does this mean you have to sit with strangers? It's hard to tell. If so, I don't like that either. If not, what do you not like about it?
The Food Blog picture is how the tables were arranged when we ate there for the first time in early May. Fortunately we were seated all the way at the end of the row, near the tables along the water, and no one was seated next to us until we were paying the bill. There were basically 3 sets of strangers seated next to each other when we left. No way you could have a private conversation. Enjoyed the food though.
I actually really enjoyed the food the last time I was there and was looking forward to going back. It was always a great setting, just needed better food. Now they made the setting worse!
NOOOOOOOOOO! This is my absolute favorite restaurant and has always been a romantic type dinner for me and my DF. This seating completely distracts from that! How can we hold hands, drink too much tequila, and go all gaga eyed if there's a family of 5 sitting on our laps! Lol. I'm not knocking kids at the world- I love watching kids in Disney but I don't want them on my dinner table! This is so depressing. I'm glad we got there last summer once more to enjoy the surroundings
I studied abroad in Mexico for a semester and to be honest the first picture looks a whole lot more like Mexcio than the latter. I am not saying that Mexico doesn't have fancy places to eat but I never ever saw fine china or linen table clothes. It was all about bold colors. This is sad to me..I much prefer the first look.
Now I get it. Yes. I don't want to sit with strangers. So stagger the tables again, please.
I can not really tell either. But, I am thinking since I can not tell, they are still to close together!
In Mexico. Your family.
