Guests heading to Disney Springs should expect some new security procedures in place. After going through COVID-19 temp checks (which the CDC finally has said may be ineffective in identifying COVID Patients) guests will pass through new screening detectors that have been put in place. These new detectors allow guests to keep metal items in their bags, and the bags are carried through the checkpoint. If the checkpoint triggers the sensor, it may then be searched by security.
And it's probably a good thing, because as we say in THIS FORUM POST some people just have to be inappropriate.
