New Theater Coming Main Street U.S.A. - Let's Talk Location!

http://www.wdwforgrownups.com/articles/new-theater-coming-magic-kingdoms-main-street-usa

Above is the link to my article about the new theater coming to Main Street USA. I've heard a bunch of speculated fan theory about where it will be going, but my girls and I just stumbled upon our own, and we think it makes sense. How do you feel about this as a possibility for not just a new theater - but perhaps a whole new street?

Discuss! Do you have your own ideas? See picture below!

That is pretty much were I figure it will go to. That's really the only option off Main Street.

DO you think they will turn that pathway into a year long street? I've also heard people say that they would just extend the walkway down Tony's and have the front of the Theater facing Tony's vs. creating a longer street. I think they need the additional crow flow myself.

No guess on where it will go, but I'm LOVING this! Disney entertainment is always top quality so I can't wait to see what show/s wind up in here!

I agree! I'm really hoping that we get a completely new and unique show for this location. I want a completely new production that includes Mickey Mouse. But - that being said - the Broadway style shows that are done in California at the Hyperion Theater have been AWESOME. So, an adaptation of one of the Disney movies would be OK too. Oh! Cinderella based on the live action movie with some music added. I'm totally up for that. I just want it to be unique to the Magic Kingdom and not a copy.

What sort of show do you want to see?

I believe that's where they said it would be able to go - on a street parallel to Main St. It's good that MK finally has a permanent theatre.

I'm all about the Broadway style productions! I'm not picky, I'll take just about whatever character/storyline they want to center it around!

I can see the possibilities of 'testing' shows here before they go to Broadway or to other parks or around the world. It could work out quite well

Like I said when we were talking earlier, my first thought was that gaining this theater meant losing Tony's Town Square and the Mickey & Tinker Bell meet & greets at Town Square Theater. (Although the fact that there is also a merchandise location in there should save that building. laugh ) I like Kristen's idea much better and I really hope that this secondary street becomes a permanent fixture. It makes it SO much easier to maneuver during parades and fireworks when it's open.

As for the show, I vote for Alice in Wonderland. laugh Ok, ok I know that's not going to happen. I had heard rumblings of Hunchback being adapted for Broadway, so that would be a fun option, but the fact that it's a whole new space, I'm thinking that Beauty and Beast, Cinderella, Princess & the Frog, or Tangled are the top contenders. I could see a more elaborate version of Beauty and the Beast moving here from DHS and one of the other properties moving to DHS--assuming that the DHS theater will still be standing at the end of the day. Who knows what the full long range plan is for that park. Just for the love of Disney, please do not put in another Frozen show.

Isn't that area one of the original proposals for 'Electric St', the area based on Thomas Edison's journey to 'invent' electricity?
