Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted on here--for those who don't know, hi, I'm Kat, I'm getting married in May and we're honeymooning 4 nights at WDW (POR) and going on a 3 night Disney Dream cruise! What I haven't talked about much on here is our Disney-themed wedding, so I wanted to share a little about it with all y'all! My fiance and I absolutely love fairytales and Disney stories: we watched Tangled together on one of our very first dates, and we reminded each other a lot of the characters. Even before we started wedding planning, we knew a Disney-themed wedding would be perfectly "us"!
Since we live in the Midwest and both have large, close-knit families, we couldn't afford to actually do our wedding AT Disney World, we'll be getting married at my home church in MI, combining the sacredness and spirituality of the actual ceremony with our Disney Tangled theme. We're on a tight budget so it's definitely a labor of love. My mom is making ALL the dresses, including mine which is a replica of Rapunzel's in "Tangled Ever After", the vests for the guys, my fiance's Flynn Rider-inspired white and gold vest, and our bridesmaid's dresses which are based on each of their favorite Disney princesses (we have a Belle, Cinderella, Tiana, Aurora, Alice in Wonderland--OK, not really a princess, but still, Merida, & Snow White). I'm making a ton of other decorations and we're incorporating a lot of ribbon (ribbon..."tangled"...get it? Also, I really love the look of ribbon!). We'll be getting married early in the afternoon followed by lunch, dancing, and then off to our happily ever after...AKA our Disney honeymoon (well, a hotel by the airport to fly out the next day, but same thing, right?).
I know plenty of people (but not you guys--I've always found you all so friendly and supportive!) think we're crazy for having a Disney theme--I was previously blogging about my wedding on a big wedding blog but stepped down because no one really understood our vision and thought we were crazy for our Disney love. But I figure this is one place I definitely wanted to share it! More details will be coming soon as it all comes together, and after the day I'll recap it here as well: that is, if you're still interested by then
