Suggestions for Disneymoon in July

This is my first post on the forums : ) I joined because my future hubby and I love Disney...we are mocked quite a bit for the fanaticism. wink We have already booked a Disneymoon for mid-July and I can't wait. He has been to WDW countless times, and this will be my third time. We are staying at both Caribbean Beach and Coronado, because we couldn't decide.

We are looking for suggestions to make this trip to Disney (and surely not our last) extra special. We have booked a Behind the Seeds tour, because he has always loved Living with the Land and we plan to buy a nice piece of art that we have been eyeing for several years. I already looked at the "Rare Finds" column for some ideas, but are there any hidden Disney gems we should check out or small things that normally get passed by?

I need your Disney expertise--We are both very excited to be getting married after 6 years together, but I think we are both already fantasizing being on our trip!!

San Angel Inn at Mexico on the world showcase! I think it's one of the more romantic dining experiences wdw has. My wife and went there 3 times on our disneymoon!

Hi and welcome! muchlove

I went to WDW with my hubby (boyfriend at the time) in July and one of our favorite dinners was at Narcoosees! It's a really relaxed, quiet place to eat... And I think that, that makes it great for couples that want to enjoy a romantic dinner. Our server was unbelievably kind and plus it's fun to go out on the deck afterwards and watch wishes! We did, and then afterwards took a romantic stroll around the Grand Floridian grounds.

Welcome! So glad you decided to post. My husband and I spent our honeymoon at WDW as well. We had such an amazing time. My biggest tip is to make sure you get the Happily Ever After buttons when you check in and make sure you wear them around the parks. Lots of "magic" happened to us while wearing the buttons, from good tables at the restaurants, to good seats at the shows to even a freebie from one of the snack vendors. Plus, it was so awesome having everyone congratulate us! It made the trip even more special!

Thanks all! We are both so excited to be in Disney again.

I will look into Narcoosees for sure--we have never been there. We both love the San Angel Inn, so I am sure we will make a stop there!

AND I called today to make sure that our "celebration" was noted on our reservations, since there seemed to be some problem with adding it ourselves online. We were told the same thing about wearing the buttons. Even if we only get "Congratulations", I am sure it will make it a special trip! (I'm also hoping for one of those towel animals that I had never seen/heard of until this site!!)

My husband wouldn't wear his happily ever after button because he thought he looked stupid (for goodness sake there are full grown men wearing mouse ears!) I was wearing mine of course, so to my pleasure he kept getting "told off" by cast members for not wearing his button. Lots of funny comments, some of the CM are so quick witted. It was absolutely hysterical. He reluctantly pinned it to his backpack after that.

haha he said he will wear the button and even a "Mr." Mickey Tshirt (with me wearing a "Mrs." shirt), but he drew the line at the Mouse Ears! He said that they were a waste of money though, not that he would "look stupid." That's funny, though, I am glad he ended up being forced to wear it wink

So you may have to pull the old "if you love me" line on him to get the ears on! That's allowed. But we have all wore the ears. Just tell him,

Although I think a few drinks helped with that too.

I don't know what this says about the fiance... but I think it would be easier to get him to wear those fairy wings than the ears! haha Though I do have a picture of him wearing a pink cowboy hat, so really what is the difference between that and the ears?

I might just surprise him with them when we get there. Then, the "but I already spent the money..." line might work : )

The others have already given you great advice, but I just wanted to say welcome and congrats Are you going on a Disney cruise before the parks or through a different cruise line?

Allie-- different cruise line! Carnival...with all the trouble they are having, I am getting a little nervous! We have never been on a cruise before, so we wanted to start small/inexpensive to see if we like it. If we do, we both already want to go on a Disney one! That will be in the works for an anniversary trip, if this trip goes well!

Thanks for the kind words--we are so excited! And P.S. your picture is beautiful ( I assume that is you)- is it a wedding photo?

Thank you! Yes, that's me on our wedding day about a year and a half ago.

Not sure which piece of art you are eyeing but you could check and see if any artists will be at Disney when you are there. They can personalize your art. The caricature artists can personalize something for you too. We had a Disney wedding/honeymoon and love our caricature from that trip. Have a wonderful trip!

We really enjoyed Mama Melrose's at Hollywood Studios. It's not what you'd typically think of as a "romantic" restaurant but with the dim lighting, the delicious Italian food, and the cozy yet informal atmosphere, it really worked for us--plus, we got the Fantasmic! dinner package, which meant we could see the show from the Reserved Section and not wait in a huge line for our seats! Plus we got complimentary sparkling wine because it was our honeymoon!

Oh and about the ears: my husband didn't wear them the first Epcot day because he thought he'd look stupid. But then I was pointing out all the couples WITH the ears on and joking, "Wow! They're so cute! Why aren't we that cute?" and he gave in and actually WANTED to wear the ears the rest of our vacation--even on our cruise--and was glad we did!!
