Packing: How do you fill your toiletry bag?

What do you pack in your toiletry bag when traveling to Disney? Do you take your own soaps and shampoo, or to you indulge in the H2O+ products that Disney offers? Personally, I bring along a mini pharmacy in mine, and my make-up, but I love the Disney soaps and shampoo. What about you?

I bring everything that we use at home. I really don't like using hotel shampoos (they are just not strong enough on my hair) and I don't invest in travel size counterparts, so I just bring all of our full size stuff. Hence why I fly Southwest! I need two bags a person laugh

I bring all my own soaps and shampoos when traveling and then I bring back the Disney soaps and shampoos to use when return. This way when I feel homesick, I always have something to remind me and bring me back to being there.

I bring my own hair products and toothpaste. And I always bring cold/sinus pills, first aid stuff and allergy stuff.

Yep, me too. I just bought a new slightly larger toiletry bag with a smaller internal bag and I'm hoping that it's large enough to combine our regular toiletries with the first aid kit/ medicine bag. I'm big on including things like cold medicine and OTC stomach remedies, etc. TO me there are few things more frustrating than finding yourself un-well at Disney and having to buy the appraise remedy for 5x's its regular cost in the shop.

Truth!! One year the kids and I did a 5K there, but we were all sick as dogs with a respiratory infection. I swear to god we bought up every package of cold medicine they had in the gift shop for 3 days straight and the cost was astronomical! I swore I'd never be caught without OTC's for just about anything again. I pack Dayquil, Nyquil, Benedryl, Advil, Tylenol, Solarcane, Hydrocortizone cream, Band-aids, Blister pads, Pepto, Imodium. Seriously - the whole pharmacy. laugh

I also pack a small pharmacy. I used to use the H20 products but I find that the conditioner just doesn't work well enough. So this time I'll be bringing my own.

I hear ya--one time I caught a cold on the plane and $11 for a box with 5 claritin just about sent me through the roof. And eat food we're not used to without a box of pepto handy just in case? No thank you. And Advil, well some days that's the only way to make my feet understand that they ought just pipe down and do their job. laugh

Getting sick at WDW is the worst - been there, done that, called Mousekeeping at 12:00 am to bring me clean linens after someone threw up, got the t-shirt. yuck So yeah, mini-pharmacy comes along every time: cold meds, tummy meds, pain killers, NSAIDs, etc. I'm a big fan of 25 mg of Benadryl and 600 mg of ibuprofen before bed. Keeps the achy legs to a dull roar and I am down for the count. No worries about weird bed, etc.

Toiletries are an entirely different matter! The last two times I have gone down with the intention of buying shampoo/conditioner/body wash when we get there. We typically have access to a car one way or another at Disney and it's a huge time saver when I'm trying to get everything prepped at home. Don't have time or energy for the last Target run? We'll go when we get there! Personally, I find that my scent memory is very strong and I like having new products that remind me of vacation when I get home. Also, I love finding products that I can't get locally. Ocean Potion sunscreen anyone? awesome We almost always fly down to Disney on Southwest so having to check a bag with all the liquids isn't a concern on our way home.

I pack everything I use at home. I am not a fan of hotel shampoo/conditioners. I may use their lotion, but I tend to bring that as well.

I pack with Eagle Creek Pack It Cubes from The Container Store! It's life changing! I carry Tylenol and bandaids as well.

I save sample/travel size items in good quality brands that I know I can use from Birchbox and Glossybox subscriptions. I have a toiletry bag with lots of clear compartments that holds all my toiletries, make-up, hair bobbles, medical items etc. It opens up so you can see everything and even has a hanger to hang in closet or on the back of the door.

We will be packing full size toiletries I have quite thick hair so I need to shampoo normally twice and the travel sizes just don't last. I take my medicine bag which literally rattles and just basic make-up.

We just leave what ever toiletries we don't use to save weight in the cases.

I bring alllll of my hair products lol but I don't bring shampoo as the best one I've found for my hair is actually American aussie (we have uk aussie but it's made differently and 3x the price). I do bring lots of stuff like nail scissors tweezers etc but I don't bring all of the pharmacy stuff I used to bring, tbh with Walgreens so readily available I'll just go buy what I need if I need it. The beauty of having a hire car Smile I do take make up but not the whole bag, just the stuff I wear most of the time. Something I do always bring though is pain killers, I cannot get over how much they are to buy in the USA! Paracetamol (Tylenol) is like 20p (30c) here for a box of 16. When I ran out a few years ago and had to go find some and was shocked at how much more it was.
